In the event the employee is unable to submit such written request, a designee may submit the request on behalf of the employee. Leave Sharing. 8.7.1 Employees The purpose of the leave sharing program is to permit District employees to donate excess leave for use by an eligible fellow district employee who is experiencing circumstances that may participate cause the employee to take leave without pay or terminate employment with the District. The condition(s) listed above has/have caused or is likely to cause the employee to go on leave without pay or terminate District Leave Sharing Programemployment; 3. Under The employee’s absence and the provisions use of shared leave are justified by documentation; 4. The employee has depleted, or will shortly deplete, his/her annual leave and sick leave reserves, except if parental leave or pregnancy causes the need for the shared leave, in which case the employee may retain forty (40) hours of leave and still seek shared leave; 5. An employee needing leave days shall submit a “Request to Receive Sick/Vacation "Shared Leave from Co-Workers” Request" form to the DistrictDistrict Personnel Office. In the event the employee is unable to submit such a written request, a designee may submit the request on behalf of the employee. Days shall be converted to hours. 8.7.6 An employee receiving such leave sharing transfer must have exhausted, or will shortly exhaust, her/his sick leave and/or vacation leave. The employee must have abided by District policies regarding the use of sick and/or vacation leave and must not be eligible for time loss compensation under Chapter 51.32
