When the employment of an employee is terminated for any reasondies or otherwise ceases to be employed, the employee’s estate or the employee or his/her estate shall, in lieu of earned but unused vacation leave, shall be paid an amount equal to the product obtained by multiplying the number of days hours of earned but unused vacation leave to the employee’s credit by the daily rate of pay applicable to as calculated from the employee immediately prior to classification prescribed in the certificate of appointment on the date of the termination of his/her employment.of
