Local Elections. Once in every calendar year, there shall be an Annual Meeting of the Chartered Local called by the President or Co-Presidents where local elections may be held. • Details can be found in the Constitution (Appendix “B”: By-Laws Governing Chartered Locals). Local Executive Positions • The affairs of the Chartered Local shall be administered by an Executive Committee which shall be composed of the following: ❖ President or Co-Presidents ❖ One (1) or more Vice-Presidents ❖ Secretary ❖ Treasurer ❖ Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee Member (XXXX Committee Member) • It may be permissible to combine the offices of Secretary and Treasurer to become Secretary-Treasurer. • It may be permissible to combine the offices of XXXX Committee member and any other Executive position if the local approves. If there is more than one XXXX Committee member for the local (multiple sites), one member may be elected to sit on the Executive for the full term or the local may decide to rotate the position. This position shall have the same rights and privileges as other local Executive members. • Each Local should consider having an LPN/Graduate Component Representative, and a shop xxxxxxx on its Executive. • The Executive Committee shall meet at least once every four (4) months. • The term of office for positions on the Executive Committee shall be no less than one (1) year and no greater than two (2) years as decided by the Local at an Annual Meeting. Shop Stewards and Committees • An appropriate number of shop stewards may be elected by the members of the Chartered Local to represent those members employed in specific areas or functions of their employer's establishment. • Shop Stewards may be appointed by the Executive Committee if a majority of the members of the Chartered Local at a meeting authorize the Executive Committee to appoint such representatives. • Members of each Standing Committee (if any) of a Chartered Local shall be elected by a majority vote of those Local members who vote at a Local Meeting. • The Executive Committee may set up special committees of the Chartered Local and may appoint the members of each such committee from the members of the Chartered Local, the chairperson to be chosen by the Executive Committee and to be entitled to cast a vote in the case of a tie. • The Executive Committee may delegate any of its powers to any such committees. We will ensure that elections are freely and fairly contested, and encourage local people to become involved in local democracy. Flintshire County Council will:- Town and Community Councils will:- Administer the holding of Town and Community Council elections. Notify the need for elections in a timely manner. Involve Town and Community Councils in the local election planning process. Encourage participation in the local election process by members of the local community. Involve Town and Community Councils in any awareness raising/ publicity to encourage nominations for candidacy at local elections. Ensure wide publicity of vacancies on Town and Community Councils to maximise community representation. Help to publicise forthcoming local elections on behalf of Town and Community Councils. Provide Flintshire County Council with the necessary information to enable them to publicise any forthcoming elections on their behalf. Brief Town and Community Council Clerks on the nomination process so that they are equipped to assist any potential candidates who come forward for local elections. Provide help and assistance with the local election legal and administrative processes and procedures.   • Personnel Selection Leave With Pay Where an employee participates in a personnel selection process, including the appeal process where applicable, for a position in the Public Service or in the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions, as defined in the Public Service Labour Relations Act, the employee is entitled to leave with pay for the period during which the employee's presence is required for purposes of the selection process, and for such further period as the Employer considers reasonable for the employee to travel to and from the place where his presence is so required.

  • Beneficiary Designation The Participant may, from time to time, name any beneficiary or beneficiaries (who may be named contingently or successively) to whom any benefit under this Agreement is to be paid in case of his or her death before he or she receives any or all of such benefit. Each such designation shall revoke all prior designations by the Participant, shall be in a form prescribed by the Company, and will be effective only when filed by the Participant in writing with the Director of Human Resources of the Company during the Participant’s lifetime. In the absence of any such designation, benefits remaining unpaid at the Participant’s death shall be paid to the Participant’s estate.
