Local Union Official. The individual employed by the University who holds the highest-ranking elected CWA Office limited to one of the following: Local Union President, Local Union Vice President, Local Union Secretary/ Treasurer, or Executive Officer. Mentor Rate An additional $.50 per hour, for the duration of the assignment, for Bargaining Unit members who volunteer, qualified through training, and are assigned to be a mentor. Regular Part-time Employee An employee who has completed his/her probationary period who is regularly scheduled to work less than forty (40) hours per workweek. Regular Rate of Pay The rate of pay of an employee as stated in Appendix B of this Agreement. Shift Differential Additional $. 50 per hour rate for shifts scheduled to begin at or after 2 p.m. and before 5 a.m. during the scheduled work week.

Senior Executive The Vice President for Academic & Student Affairs, Chief Financial Officer, Chief Operating Officer, Chief Enrollment Officer, Chief Advancement Officer, Chief of Staff and any other Vice President or Chief level positions created during the duration of this Agreement. As used in specific provisions of this Agreement, Senior Executive shall mean that position discussed in the preceding sentence that is above the work unit in which the bargaining member works.   • Union Office Upon application by the Union, in writing, the Hospital will give reasonable consideration to a request for leave of absence, without pay, to an employee elected or appointed to full-time Union office. It is understood that not more than one (1) employee in the bargaining unit may be on such leave at the same time. Such leave, if granted, shall be for a period of one (1) calendar year (in the case of the Union President, two (2) calendar years) from the date of appointment unless extended for a further specific period by agreement of the parties. Seniority and service shall accumulate during such leave to the maximum provided, if any, under the provisions of the Collective Agreement. It will become the responsibility of the employee for full payment of any applicable benefits in which the employee is participating during such leave of absence.

  • Union Officers Sufficient time off shall be granted to the four (4) Principal Officers of the Local 48 Union for the purpose of attending and conducting regular and special meetings of the Union. All hours associated with said work shall not be subject to the 2000-hour time bank identified in Section 1 of this Article. In addition, time off shall be granted to the four (4) principal officers of the Union and any other members of the Assistant Chiefs Negotiating Team, not to exceed two (2), during the term of deliberation of the Assistant Chiefs Negotiating Team. Time off for deliberations may not begin prior to nine (9) months before the contract expiration date. The aforementioned members of the negotiating team shall be granted up to five hundred (500) hours, in the aggregate, in order to prepare for negotiations. All aforementioned time off shall be granted with full pay and shall not be subject to the 2000-hour time bank identified in Section 1 of this article. All notifications for time off for Union Business shall be made to the Fire Chief prior to actual time being taken. These notifications shall be by email and must be followed by a Form 25-S not later than the member's next tour.

  • Data Protection Officer 10.1 The Data Processor will appoint a Data Protection Officer where such appointment is required by Data Protection Laws and Regulations.

  • Leave for Union Office Upon request of the Union's President, the Employer will grant leaves of absence without pay to bargaining unit employees who serve as Union representatives or officers for up to one- hundred twenty (120) days, if it is consistent with operational needs. This leave will be for no more than one time per year per employee and no more than fifteen (15) employees per year who must be from different Departments. Such employees will not be separated from the payroll and will be restored to their previous positions at the conclusion of such leaves.

  • Union Stewards The Hospital agrees to recognize Union stewards to be elected or appointed from amongst employees in the bargaining unit who have completed their probationary period for the purpose of dealing with Union business as provided under this Collective Agreement. A Chief Xxxxxxx or designate may, in the absence of any xxxxxxx, assist in the presentation of any grievance, or with any xxxxxxx function. The Union shall keep the Hospital notified in writing of the names of Union stewards appointed or selected under this Article as well as the effective date of their respective appointments. It is agreed that Union stewards have their regular duties and responsibilities to perform for the Hospital and shall not leave their regular duties without first obtaining permission from their immediate supervisor. If, in the performance of his duties, a Union xxxxxxx is required to enter an area within the Hospital in which he is not originally employed, he shall report his presence to the supervisor in the area immediately upon entering it. Such permission shall not be unreasonably withheld. When resuming his regular duties and responsibilities, such xxxxxxx shall again report to his immediate supervisor. A Union xxxxxxx shall suffer no loss of earnings for time spent in performing the above duties during his regular scheduled working hours. Nothing in this Article shall preclude full-time stewards from representing part-time employees and vice-versa. The number of stewards and the areas which they represent, are to be determined locally."
