Mayor. If the grievance is not settled at Step 2, the grievant may within five (5) working days after the receipt of the Step 2 answer, appeal the grievance in writing to the Mayor of the City. The Mayor or his designee shall have seven (7) working days in which to schedule a meeting, if he deems such meeting necessary. If a meeting is deemed necessary, the Mayor or his designee shall meet with the grievant, and if so requested, the Union's Legal Counsel, and/or, if necessary, the Officer in Charge, any other Officer of the Department, Police Chief, Safety Service Director, Law Director. Legal counsel or other members of the administration may attend grievance meeting at the Mayor’s request. The grievant will attend this Step of the grievance procedure when so authorized by mutual agreement of the parties. It shall be the responsibility of the Mayor or his designee to investigate the allegations and provide a member of the Official Grievance Committee with his written answer to the grievance within seven (7) working days after the meeting. If no meeting was deemed necessary, the response shall be provided to the grievant within seven (7) working days after the grievance was received at this Step.

Mayor. Within ten (10) calendar days, the employee shall refer the grievance and all relevant material 29 concerning the grievance to the Mayor, who shall convene a meeting between himself, the grievant, the xxxxxxx, 30 or other representative designated by the Union, the Director and such witnesses as may be deemed appropriate 31 by the parties within ten (10) calendar days of receipt of the grievance. Mayor. The Xxxxxx has examined the premises, the Building and the common areas and does hereby acknowledge that he has satisfied himself that the premises, the Building and the common areas are satisfactory for all of the Bailee’s intended purposes, including the safety and security thereof. The Xxxxxx agrees to obtain his own insurance on all of his personal property in or about the premises and the building, it being understood and agreed that storage of all such personal Property is entirely at the risk of the Xxxxxx.
Mayor. If the grievance is not resolved in Step 1, the grievance shall be reduced to writing on a standard grievance form and presented personally, by fax or by mail to the Mayor within fourteen (14) calendar days of the Chief’s Step 1 response, or the date such reply was due. The Mayor will hold a meeting to review the grievance at a time when the Labor Council is available to attend. If no settlement or decision is reached at Step 2, the Mayor will give a written response to the grievance within twenty-one (21) calendar days of the Step 2 meeting.

It shall be the responsibility of the Mayor or his designee to investigate the allegations and provide the xxxxxxx, the Local Union President and the Ohio Council 8 Representative with a written answer to the grievance within seven (7) working days after the meeting. Upon the request of the Union, the City shall state whether it considers arbitration an issue in the case.
