Meal Service Options and Definitions. The School shall distribute Free and Reduced Price meal application forms to students. The School will work collaboratively with the district to certify student eligibility for such programs using required federal rules and procedures. These records may be used to certify eligibility for participation in other state/federally-funded programs (i.e., Title I). All records must be accurately completed and maintained for review by state/federal auditors. The School shall provide food service to its students by one of the following means:

Enter into an agreement with the Florida Department of Education, Food and Nutrition Management Division, to administer the National School Lunch and National Breakfast Programs at the Charter school; and determine if the meals are to be hot or cold, bulk serving or individually packed. Under this option, the School shall complete and submit reimbursement claims to the Department of Education. b. Enter into an agreement with a third party vendor to have food service provided either to the Site of the School or pick-up, and determine if the meals are to be hot or cold, bulk serving or individually packed. Under this option, the School shall complete and submit reimbursement claims to the Department of Education; or c. Request meal service to be provided by the Sponsor as an additional site under the Sponsor’s existing agreement with the Department of Education. (The meal service is provided to schools with enrollment of 200 students or less). Under this arrangement, the Sponsor would provide the menu pattern (breakfast, lunch or both; hot or cold); the Sponsor would define the delivery system; the Sponsor would establish the per meal charges to the School; the Sponsor would provide the School Free and Reduced Price Meal applications which would be distributed by the School to students for completion; the Sponsor would provide meal service for pick-up by the School; the Sponsor would complete and submit reimbursement claims to the Department of Education and the School would pay the Sponsor for the non-reimbursed portion of meals served on a daily basis.
