Mechanical Tradesperson. Special Class A Mechanical Tradesperson who is mainly engaged in any combination of installing, repairing and maintaining, testing, modifying, commissioning or fault finding on complex machinery and equipment and who, in the course of such work, is required to read and understand complex plans and drawings, the performance of which work requires the use of additional knowledge as herein defined. For the purpose of this definition ‘additional knowledge’ means knowledge in excess of that gained by the satisfactory completion of the appropriate technical college trade course which has been acquired by the tradesperson by virtue of their: (1) Having had a minimum of two (2) years on the job experience as a tradesperson working under minimum supervision and technical guidance; or (2) Having satisfactorily completed a prescribed post trades course or the achievement to the satisfaction of the employer of a comparable standard of skill and knowledge by other means including in-plant training or on the job experience referred to in (1) above. For the purpose of this definition ‘mainly engaged’ means regularly over a period or intermittently during a week.

Mechanical Tradesperson. 8.1 A Mechanical tradesperson is a tradesperson who has successfully completed a recognised Australian apprenticeship or has a Tradespersons Rights Certificate or equivalent accreditation in a mechanical or structural metal trade discipline and is capable of exercising the skills and knowledge required of that trade. 8.2 Such tradespersons are mainly engaged in mechanical maintenance duties associated with installing, assembling, commissioning, testing, fault finding/diagnosing, repairing, overhauling, maintaining, modifying and converting all forms of machinery, plant and equipment (including mobile equipment), utilising some combination of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, welding and electrical principles. 8.3 Consistent with this definition, such tradespersons will perform any duties within the mechanical and structural metal trades stream for which they have acquired the necessary skills, knowledge and competence through their basic trade training, internal and external post trade training and work experience. Subject to these requirements, there is no demarcation of work between the fitting, machining and fabrication trades. In addition, mechanical tradespersons may be required to work outside of their assigned area. 8.4 Furthermore, mechanical tradespersons will undertake additional duties which have traditionally been performed by tradespersons in other disciplines or by Plant Operators. These additional duties must be within the limit of the tradesperson’s skill, knowledge and competence, be consistent with the application of the whole of job concept and be agreed by the parties pursuant to the 1990 Skill Share Agreement. These additional duties will include, but will not be limited to, the following activities. 8.4.1 The acquisition and full utilisation of OHS certificates in relation to the operation of cranes and fork-lifts and the undertaking of rigging duties for the purpose of lifting, handling and transporting parts, equipment and materials where this is directly associated with the particular maintenance job being undertaken. 8.4.2 The operation of plant and equipment where this is associated with testing, commissioning or recommissioning activities. 8.4.3 Basic electrical trades duties which are incidental and/or ancillary to the primary mechanical maintenance job being performed and which facilitates the completion of the whole job.   • Technical Training The CAISO and the Participating TOs shall respond to reasonable requests for support and provide relevant technical training to each other’s employees to support the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the CAISO Controlled Grid and to comply with any NERC or WECC operator certification or training requirements. Examples of such technical training include, but are not limited to: (1) the theory or operation of new or modified equipment (e.g., control systems, Remedial Action Schemes, protective relays); (2) computer and applicator programs; and (3) CAISO (or Participating TO) requirements. The Parties shall enter into agreements regarding the timing, term, locations, and cost allocation for the training.

  • Safety Glasses Section 1. The City shall supply prescription safety glasses with plastic lenses to employees who are required to wear safety glasses and who are members of the classifications contained in Appendix C to this contract. Safety glasses which are authorized must be industrial grade safety glasses which meet or exceed the requirements of ANSI Specification Z87. 1. All employees who are required to wear safety glasses shall also be required to wear side xxxxxxx, either permanent or snap-on, whenever an eye hazard exists. Solid tinted glasses will not be approved unless required by prescription. Photogray, progressive, scratch coating and/or anti-glare lenses may be considered for those employees who primarily work outdoors or as prescribed. In the event that additional classes are identified as needing either prescription safety glasses or protective eyewear, such classes may be added to the classification list in Appendix C upon approval of PAGE and the City. Section 2. The City agrees to pay the full cost of required prescription safety glasses, with frames not to exceed $75.00. This excludes the cost of the eye examination which will be the responsibility of the employee. The effected employees will be allowed one (1) replacement of safety glasses every two (2) years. In the event the safety glasses become lost, unserviceable, or broken on the job, the employee must present a written request for replacement to the Department Head and Human Resources Director. If the employee breaks his safety glasses while on the job, the Department shall replace the glasses at no cost to the employee. The replacement of lost glasses or glasses that are broken off the job will be at the discretion of the Department Head and Human Resources Director. If an employee has been provided safety glasses by the City, the employee shall be permitted to retain possession of the glasses after separation from the City without reimbursing the City for any costs associated with the glasses. Section 3. An employee who is required to wear prescription safety glasses must present a written request to his department head or designated representative. Section 4. The employee must obtain a current prescription and the employee is authorized the use of sick leave not to exceed two (2) hours to accomplish this examination. The employee will obtain a purchase order from the Department Head prior to ordering the safety glasses. The employee will present the purchase order to the appropriate vendor when ordering. The vendor will contact the appropriate Department Head when the glasses are ready for delivery. The Department Head will then notify the employee who will present himself at the vendor for fitting and pickup. Section 5. In the event a probationary employee has been issued safety glasses and terminates his employment with the City for any reason during the probationary period, he shall be required to reimburse the City for any expenses incurred in the purchase of safety glasses.

IntraLATA calls originated on a 1+ presubscription basis, or on a casual dialed (10XXX/101XXXX) basis are not considered Local Traffic. Local Traffic does not include any Internet Traffic.
