Northern Allowances. For the term of this Agreement, all employees stationed in the employ of the Institute at headquarters as identified in Appendix B shall receive, in addition to their regular pay rates, the complete Northern Allowance Benefits as indicated in Appendix B.
Northern Allowances. Should an employee reside in Moosonee they shall receive an annual allowance of $14,129.00.
Northern Allowances. Effective January 1, 2020, should an employee reside in Moosonee, they shall receive an annual allowance of $20,000.00 – paid out in four quarterly installments of $5,000.
Northern Allowances. 15.01 The Corporation’s assistance to permanent and term full time employees to alleviate the higher cost of living in the Yukon will pay a flat rate northern allowance of six thousand three hundred dollars ($6,300.00) per annum, paid out equally on each pay date, plus five percent (5%) of base salary.
15.02 Permanent and term part time employees shall receive a prorated flat rate northern allowance on provisions in Article 15.01 on the basis of total regular hours to be worked in the year divided by the total regular full time hours, plus five percent (5%) of base salary.
15.03 Temporary employees who have been continuously employed for more than five (5) months, or are scheduled to be continuously employed for more than five (5) months shall be entitled to fifty percent (50%) of the flat rate northern allowance for the time worked. Such employees who work less than full time regular hours will be entitled to fifty percent (50%) of the six thousand three hundred dollars ($6,300.00) per annum prorated.
15.04 Northern allowances will not be earned for any month during which the employee does not earn ten (10) days pay in a calendar month due to short- term disability, long term disability, or periods of leave without pay. Northern allowances will be adjusted at the completion of the leave.
15.05 The parties agree to re-open the collective agreement in the event the Corporation is transferred or devolved to another organization where succession rights under the Canada Labour Code do not apply. The re-opener will be confined to the integration of the Northern Allowances into the base salary. Other matters may be included in the re-opener

Such employees who work less then full time regular hours will be entitled to fifty percent (50%) of the per month Northern Allowance prorated.

55.01 Where the Board opens a new Area Office the northern allowance will be negotiated and, failing agreement, the matter will be referred to arbitration.
