Common use of Notice of Change of Shift Clause in Contracts

Notice of Change of Shift. Failure to provide at least sixteen (16) hours rest between shifts which are being changed at the request of the Employer shall result in the calculation of a new rate which shall be one and one-half times (1½X) the appropriate regular rate for the first two (2) hours, and two times (2X) the appropriate regular rate for the remainder of the hours, for any hours worked during such normal rest periods. This rate change shall not be interpreted as time, but only as a rate of pay.
