Off-Campus Employment Opportunities. International employees may pursue Curricular Practical Training (CPT) and Optional Practical Training (OPT) as legally eligible. The University will support those applications consistent with regulatory restrictions and rules governing CPT and OPT. If an international employee does not receive equal or greater compensation and benefits from another employer as the employee pursues CPT or OPT during a period of guaranteed funding from the University, the University will pay the employee the difference between the University stipend they would otherwise receive for that period and continue the employee's health insurance coverage if such training is essential to the completion of their degree. Compensation for CPT or OPT that is not essential to the completion of their degree will be governed by Article 24 Section 11 (Professional Development Leave).

CPT requests will not be arbitrarily denied. The University shall not retaliate if a GSE elects to use these benefits.
