Other Extended Leaves. (1) Other extended leaves of absence without pay for up to five (5) years may be granted, at the discretion and upon approval of the Board, for the purpose of educational advancement, continued full-time care of a newborn or newly adopted child, or other personal ventures, provided that, during a teacher's career in the School District, cumulative leave may not exceed five (5) years.
