IN-SERVICE WORKSHOPS. When teachers attend district sponsored in-service workshops, they can earn in-service hours for credential renewal purposes only. (15 hours of in-service equates to 1 semester credit for renewal purposes only)
IN-SERVICE WORKSHOPS. 16.1 - In-service workshops may be conducted during the school year at the discretion of the Employer.
IN-SERVICE WORKSHOPS. A. Certificated teachers in grades K-12 will be required to participate in three (3) days of staff development, for a total of 18 hours. The District will designate one (1) required attendance staff development day, (1) voluntary attendance staff development day, and the equivalent of six
IN-SERVICE WORKSHOPS. Employees shall be compensated at their hourly rate for attending in-service workshops if the employee is required to attend by his/her principal.
IN-SERVICE WORKSHOPS. An In-Service Workshop is designed for an exchange of ideas, the presentation and discussion of information, and practical methods and skills for improving employee on-the- job performance. Credit for attendance at district approved workshops will be applied at the rate of one point for each ten hours of attendance. Credit will be given only when the activity is at the employee's expense and on employee's own time. Qualifying for the Awards When an employee has completed twenty (20) approved growth points, he/she shall receive an annual "growth award" in the amount of three percent (3%) of his/her annual salary. Activities are to be completed by July 1 in order to be eligible for the growth award for that year. Notice of intention to complete award requirements shall be submitted in writing to the committee in the month of May prior to July 1 completion. The maximum number of growth awards any employee may receive is one per year up to a total of five during the term of employment. Teacher aides working toward the instructional Aide rating will not receive professional growth credit for those activities. In the event of a split assignment, those activities pertaining specifically to one assignment will be credited only to that assignment. All requests for credit must be accompanied by a transcript or by proof of satisfactory completion signed by the instructor indicating the number of hours completed.
IN-SERVICE WORKSHOPS. The Board shall establish and approve one (1) full day or two (2) half days of in-service workshops for office personnel annually. Such workshops shall be planned and scheduled by a steering committee comprised of two (2) employees appointed by the President of the Association, and two (2) administrators appointed by the Superintendent. All Bargaining Unit employees shall attend the scheduled workshop(s) as specified, unless approved otherwise by Superintendent or designee.
IN-SERVICE WORKSHOPS. When classified employees are required by the District to participate in in-service workshops or other training, such attendance shall be without loss of pay or benefits.
IN-SERVICE WORKSHOPS. The Board and the Association agree to cooperate in arranging in-service courses and workshops designed to improve the quality of education. In-service programs shall be conducted during the school work day if teacher attendance is required.
IN-SERVICE WORKSHOPS. The Board may provide bargaining unit members in-service workshops, conferences, and programs designed to improve the quality of instruction. In-service workday shall be from 8:00 AM until 4:00 PM with at least one (1) hour lunch period. Attendance at such in-service training programs beyond the in-service workday shall be at the employee's discretion without the fear of reprisal or negative evaluation. Under normal circumstances, Personal Leave days will not be granted by the Superintendent on in-service workdays.
IN-SERVICE WORKSHOPS. 1. Employees will be required to participate in one (1) professional development day, with pay, during the course of the school year. This day will be identified prior to the start of the school year. Employees will not be required to attend PRT (Professional Release Time) workshops.
