Other Leaves of Absence Without Pay. In instances where the work will not be seriously handicapped by the temporary absence of an employee, the appointing power may grant a leave of absence without pay not to exceed ninety (90) calendar days. Leaves of absence without pay for periods in excess of ninety (90) days per calendar year must be approved by the governing body. Request for such leave must be in writing and must establish reasonable justification for approval of the request. Normally, such leave will not be approved for an employee who is accepting employment outside the County service. Sick leave, vacation and holidays and the employee's health insurance payment shall be prorated based on time worked in a month.
