Common use of OVERTIME AND HOLIDAY PAY Clause in Contracts

OVERTIME AND HOLIDAY PAY. All hours worked by an employee in excess of nine (9) hours per shift and in excess of forty-five (45) straight time hours per week shall be paid for at the rate of time and one-half the straight time rate. All hours worked on Saturday shall be paid for at the rate of time and one-half the straight time rate and all hours worked on Sunday shall be paid for at the rate of double the straight time rate. Work performed on New Year's Day, Family Day, Good Friday, Victoria Day, Canada Day, first Monday in August, Labour Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, Boxing Day and any such day proclaimed a general holiday by the Federal or Provincial Governments and any day recognized in the Construction Industry shall be paid for at the rate of double the straight time rate, provided that where one of the holidays above mentioned falls during the work week, all hours worked by an employee in excess of ten (10) hours per shift and forty (40) straight time hours that week, and all hours worked on Saturday, shall be paid for at the rate of time and one-half the straight time rate.
