Payout for Sick Leave. Upon service retirement after five (5) years of County service, disability retirement or death of an employee or officer, and subject to the provisions of any applicable agreement between the employing agency and the Public Employee's Retirement System, unused accumulated sick leave shall be paid for at the following rates and subject to the following caps: Years Percent Cap 5 years or more up to 15 years 50% 960 hours 15 years or more 100% 960 hours Payment resulting from death shall be made to the persons entitled to otherwise, in accordance with the Probate Code.

Payment resulting from death shall be made to the persons entitled to otherwise, in accordance with the Probate Code.
