Common use of Preceptor Differentials Clause in Contracts

Preceptor Differentials. A nurse assigned to function as a preceptor for a student nurse will receive a Tier 1 preceptor differential of 50 cents per hour. Effective the first pay period of the month beginning 90 calendar days after ratification, a nurse assigned to function as a preceptor for a new nurse (other than a student nurse) will receive a Tier 2 preceptor differential of $2.00 per hour. In order to be eligible for the Tier 2 preceptor differential, the precepting nurse will be responsible for planning, implementing, documenting and evaluating with the appropriate nursing director the new nurse’s performance during the preceptorship. Formatted: Underline Tier 2 preceptors will complete the preceptor competency provided by the Nursing Education Coordinator prior to receiving the Tier 2 differential.
