Pregnancy/Childcare Leave. If the reason for the family leave is occasioned by pregnancy, the teacher shall also provide, at the time of the leave application, a statement from her physician indicating the expected date of delivery, and, subject to the other provisions of this section, such a leave shall be granted. If a teacher who has requested and been granted family leave because of pregnancy delivers prior to the scheduled beginning date of her family leave, she shall be eligible for sick leave in accordance with the provisions of Section 1 until the scheduled beginning date of her family leave. A teacher shall not be eligible for sick leave benefits during the period of time covered by the childcare leave.
