Change in Assignment. Should it become necessary to make changes in an employee’s assignment, the person responsible for making the change shall notify the employee prior to making such change and shall specify such change in writing. (1) If an assignment is changed without six (6) weeks notice, the supervisor will provide the employee with a written explanation of the rationale for the assignment change with a copy to the Xxxx, no later than seven (7) days after the change has been made. (2) Upon written request, the University will provide the UFF with a copy of the rationale for the assignment change referenced in 9.2-C.1.

(2) The University shall make a good faith effort not to change a faculty member’s teaching assignment, including a change in course modality, fewer than two (2) weeks prior to the beginning of the semester. (3) If a faculty member has been assigned or reassigned a course or a course’s modality has been changed fewer than two (2) weeks prior to the beginning of the semester, such circumstances will be taken into account when reviewing the faculty members’ performance.

If, however, the employee with the greatest length of service in the class is not selected for the vacant position, all employees who have requested a change in assignment who have a greater length of service than the individual selected shall be notified in writing of the University's decision, with a copy to the PBA. Except when agreed otherwise by the PBA and the University, the notification shall contain the reason(s) the less senior applicant was selected.

(4) If a faculty member has been assigned or reassigned a course fewer than four (4) weeks prior to the first class session, such circumstances shall be taken into consideration when reviewing student evaluations of the course.
