Promotion for Current Faculty. ‌ A. Notwithstanding any of the factors outlined herein, no faculty member will receive a lower full-time academic year salary in one academic year than was received in the previous academic year. The following criteria are effective in the 2011-2012 academic year and thereafter: Promotion to the next level requires a minimum of four (4) years in the current level and completion of a Professional Development Plan, which has been reviewed and recommended by the Promotion Committee and approved by the Xxxx/CEO. The Promotion Committee is chaired by the Associate Xxxx of Academics, and comprised of two (2) faculty selected by Faculty Senate and two (2) faculty selected by the Union. Professional Development Plans will be reviewed by the Promotion Committee during the fall. Those recommended for approval by the Promotion Committee will be submitted to the Xxxx/CEO by December 1st for review and possible approval. Notice of approval or denial by the Xxxx/CEO will be provided to the Promotion Committee and faculty member by February 1st. If a faculty member's request for approval of a Professional Development Plan is denied, the faculty member may appeal the denial to the Labor-Management Committee or an alternative process agreed upon by the parties but may not appeal such denial through the contractual grievance procedure. The Professional Development Plan may be altered or changed in consultation with the faculty member, the faculty’s Division Chair and approval of the Associate Xxxx of Academics. B. Professional development activities include experiences that advance a faculty member's professional (educational and occupational) skills, knowledge, and abilities, and experiences that maintain a faculty member's currency with technology and practices in education and/or the occupation(s) for which they prepare/educate students for employment or further education.

  • Commercialization Plan At such times as the JGC will deem appropriate, the JGC will direct the Parties to mutually prepare a Worldwide Commercialization Plan, and the JGC will review and approve such initial Worldwide Commercialization Plan. Thereafter, the JGC will have one or the other Party (or both) update the Worldwide Commercialization Plan each calendar year, and the JGC will review and approve any such update or any other amendment to the Worldwide Commercialization Plan. Notwithstanding anything in this CCPS Agreement to the contrary, the Parties acknowledge and agree that (i) Bluebird may decline to perform any Commercialization activity proposed to be conducted by Bluebird in the Worldwide Commercialization Plan (other than Manufacturing of Vectors and associated Payloads), and (ii) the Worldwide Commercialization Plan will not include, and Bluebird will have no obligation to perform, any such Commercialization activity that Bluebird has declined to perform, provided that once Bluebird has agreed to perform a Commercialization activity, it will be obligated to perform, and cannot decline to perform, such activity. In addition, either Party may request at any time that the JGC consider and approve other updates to the Worldwide Commercialization Plan. Further: (a) The JGC will set the required form and contents of the Worldwide Commercialization Plan. The Worldwide Commercialization Plan will reflect a singular marketing and sales approach worldwide, and will specify, among other things, the number of sales reps in the U.S. for each Party, allocation of regions in the U.S. for each Parties’ sales force, creation of marketing materials, planning for conferences, and other marketing activities.   • SALARY DETERMINATION FOR EMPLOYEES IN ADULT EDUCATION 1. The following shall apply to employees providing instruction in adult education programs in these districts: Continuing Education employees in the Adult Education High School Completion Program (credit courses) and Adult Education Academic Upgrading Programs (Adult Basic Education, General Education Development, Pre-General Education Development, Literacy and Adult Education English Language Programs). Employees teaching Adult Education academic programs including: High School Completion Program, Pathfinder High School Completion Program, Academic Business Education Program, General Equivalency Diploma Program, Adult Basic Education Program, Adult English as a Second Language Program, and Adult Special Education Program, in the Continuing Education Division.

  • Teaching Load 11-1 The parties recognize that the number of students, the number of preparations, and the amount of planning time are related to student performance. 11-2 CLASS SIZE 11-2-1 The parties recognize that class size is related to economics and that reduction of class size is faced with fiscal constraints. The parties further recognize that it is not feasible at this time to set general numerical limitations upon class size because of physical space available, special programs, special student needs, attendance area variances, differences in scheduling systems, busing, and because of other variable causes affecting class size. Nevertheless, the parties shall make reasonable effort to maintain class size at reasonable, workable, and educationally effective levels in all situations. 11-3 TEACHER LOAD 11-3-1 Teaching load shall be defined as the number of separate class preparations that a teacher has per school day as delineated in the course description guide.

  • Joint Commercialization Committee (i) The JCC shall oversee Commercialization of JAK Licensed Products in the Field worldwide. As soon as practicable following the Effective Date (but in no event more than thirty (30) days following the Effective Date), each Party shall designate its initial three (3) representatives on the JCC. The JCC shall be composed of appropriate and key executives of Novartis together with an equal number of appropriate and key executives from Incyte. Novartis and Incyte shall each appoint a person from among its representatives on the JCC to serve as the co-chairperson of the JCC. The co-chairpersons shall not have any greater authority than any other representative on the JCC and shall conduct the following activities of the JCC: (A) calling meetings of the JCC; (B) preparing and issuing minutes of each such meeting within thirty (30) days thereafter; (C) preparing and circulating an agenda for the upcoming meeting; and (D) ensuring that any decision-making delegated to the JCC is carried out in accordance with Section 3.5. (ii) The JCC shall be responsible for: (A) overseeing, reviewing and coordinating the Commercialization of JAK Licensed Products in the Field worldwide; (B) developing and overseeing the Global Branding Strategy; (C) setting overall strategic objectives and plans related to Commercialization of JAK Licensed Products in the Field worldwide; (D) reviewing, commenting on and approving the Promotional Plan; (E) reviewing Commercialization issues for JAK Licensed Products in the Field in the Novartis Territory that will have an impact on Commercialization of JAK Licensed Products in the Field in the Incyte Territory; (F) reviewing Commercialization issues for JAK Licensed Products in the Field in the Incyte Territory that will have an impact on Commercialization of JAK Licensed Products in the Field in the Novartis Territory; (G) providing a forum for the Parties to discuss the Commercialization of JAK Licensed Products in the Field worldwide; and (H) such other responsibilities as may be assigned to the JCC pursuant to this Agreement or as may be mutually agreed upon by the Parties from time to time.

  • Professional Development Days Upon request, each Employee shall be granted at least three (3) professional development days annually for professional development, at the Basic Rate of Pay. An Employee shall be advised, prior to taking any professional development days of any transportation, registration fees, subsistence and other expenses that will be paid by the Employer. Such hours not used in each fiscal year shall not be carried forward into subsequent years. Applications for such paid professional development opportunities shall be made in writing, to the Employer as early as possible.

  • Petition for Annual Conference Session The Local Church acknowledges that pursuant to the governing standing rules of the Annual Conference, petitions for consideration of the legislative body must be submitted to the Secretary of the Annual Conference on or before April 1 of the current Annual Conference year. The Annual Conference will make reasonable efforts to assist the Local Church in completing the required petition, which will include this Disaffiliation Agreement as an attachment thereto making it subject to public review. If the petition is not filed in a timely manner, the Parties will make good faith efforts under the standing rules of the Annual Conference to cooperate to bring the petition to the legislative floor for consideration by appropriate motions to suspend the standing rules for the purposes of considering the petition.

  • PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT AND EDUCATIONAL IMPROVEMENT A. The Board of Education agrees to pay the actual tuition costs of courses taken by a teacher at accredited colleges or universities up to three courses per two (2) year fiscal periods from July 1, 2006 to June 30, 2008 and July 1, 2008 to June 30, 2010 respectively, except as follows: 1. No teacher may be reimbursed for courses taken during the first year of teaching in Vineland. 2. Teachers taking courses in the second and third years of employment in Vineland will not receive remuneration until tenure has been secured. The remuneration will then be retroactive and will be paid to the teacher in a lump sum within sixty (60) days after the teacher has secured tenure. 3. All courses must be pre-approved by the Superintendent or his designee subject to the following requirements: (a) A teacher must provide official documentation that he/she has obtained a grade of B or better; (b) Reimbursement shall be paid only for courses directly related to teacher’s teaching field which increase the teacher’s content knowledge and are related to the teacher’s current certification, as determined by the Superintendent or his/her designee in his/her sole discretion; no reimbursement shall be paid for courses leading to a post graduate or professional degree in a field other than education or teaching. Further, effective September 1, 2010, all newly hired teachers shall not be eligible for reimbursement until they are tenured, and they shall not be eligible for retroactive reimbursement upon gaining tenure for courses taken prior to being tenured. (c) The maximum total payments to be made by the Board shall not exceed $130,000.00. Courses shall be applied for no earlier than the following dates: Summer Session - April 1 Fall/Winter Session - June 1 Spring Session - October 1 Courses must, as set forth hereinabove in this sub-article 18.A.3, be pre-approved by the Superintendent or his designee, prior to the teacher commencing the course(s); and (d) Teacher taking courses shall sign a contract requiring them to reimburse the Board for all tuition paid for a course if the teacher shall voluntarily leave the employ of the Board within one (1) full school/academic year of completion of said course, except that reimbursement shall not be required when the teacher shall voluntarily leave the employ of the Board due to a significant, documented life change. 4. Tuition reimbursement costs shall be a sum not to exceed the actual cost of college credits charged in an accredited public State college/University of the State of New Jersey. B. When the Superintendent initiates in-service training courses, workshops, conferences and programs designed to improve the quality of instruction, the cooperation of the Vineland Education Association will be solicited. Notwithstanding the above, the initiation of in-service training courses, workshops, conferences and programs shall be determined solely at the discretion of the Board. C. One professional leave day may be granted to a teacher upon request, according to the following guidelines: 1. The professional day may be for attendance at a workshop, seminar or visit to another school for the expressed purpose of self professional improvement for the job. 2. The request shall arrive in the office of the Superintendent of Schools at least ten (10) working days prior to the date requested and shall be reviewed by the immediate supervisor prior to submission. The Board reserves the right to deny a professional leave day before or immediately following a holiday or on a day which by its nature suggests a hardship for providing a substitute. 3. No more than two teachers from any one elementary school or from any one department in the secondary schools may be granted a professional leave for a given day. 4. The teacher may be required to submit a report to the Superintendent of Schools, Assistant Superintendent, supervisor (s), principal and staff regarding the activity of the professional day. 5. Costs incurred by the teacher for the professional day authorized under this Section shall be the teacher’s responsibility. 6. A maximum of 90 professional leave days may be authorized for the school year which shall be apportioned as follows: elementary, 35; grades seven and eight, 20; and high school, 35. D. If the Board initiates a teacher’s attendance at a professional workshop, seminar or visit, the expenses shall be the responsibility of the Board. Further, this day shall not be subtracted from the 90 professional leave days granted to teachers of the Association. E. The Board agrees to pay the full cost of courses taken by secretaries related to skills and knowledge improvement when such courses are required and approved by the Board. F. The Board and the Association agree that it is important to communicate when developing and implementing current and future learning technologies, including but not limited to distance and on-line learning.
