Reemployment of Employees on Disability Retirement. A. The County will advise employees retired for disability to contact the Orange County Employees Retirement System (OCERS) to determine the impact of reemployment on their disability retirement benefits prior to accepting reemployment. B. Employees retired for physical disability who have contacted OCERS for advice and counsel under Section A above who within two (2) years from the date of retirement or date their disability retirement is discontinued, request and have been counseled as required above and qualify for positions in the County service shall be placed on the COUNTY PREFERRED ELIGIBLE LIST with respect to such positions. They will be placed on such list in chronological order of retirement but following the last person on layoff status. They will remain on such list for a period of two (2) years from date of retirement or date their disability retirement is discontinued, except that: a person appointed to a regular position in the County service shall be removed from the list; a person who, on two (2) separate occasions, rejects or fails to respond within three (3) calendar days to offers of employment in a class for which he or she is qualified shall be removed from the list; a person who on three (3) separate occasions, declines referral for interviews in a class for which he or she is qualified shall be removed from the list.

  • Long-Term Disability (Employee Paid Plans) a) All permanent Teachers shall participate in the long term disability plan (LTD Plan) as a condition of employment, subject to the terms of the LTD plan. b) The Board shall cooperate in the administration of the LTD Plan. It is understood that administration means that the Board will co-operate with the enrolment and deduction of premiums and provide available necessary data to the insurer, upon request. The Board will remit premiums collected to the carrier on behalf of the Teachers. c) Where the plan administrator implements changes in the terms and conditions of the LTD Plan or the selection of an insurance carrier, the Board shall, for administrative purposes, be advised of changes at least thirty (30) days prior to the date the changes are to be implemented.
