Retention Register. In a RIF, a retention register is prepared which lists all employees in the given competitive area and competitive level by groups in the following order: Retention Group I: AD. Employees with veterans' preference in RIF who have compensable service-connected disabilities of 30 percent or more and permanent tenure.

Retention Register. If an Employee receives a RIF notice, they and/or their designated Union Representative may review the retention register, in the Civilian Personnel Office, for their competitive level.
