S ubd. 4. Kids’ Choice Assistant: The position of Kids’ Choice Assistant is defined as a position assigned to assist with the instructional process in the Kids’ Choice program.
S ubd. 4. Paid Leave Under this Agreement: The teacher may elect or the School District may require the teacher to substitute paid vacation, paid sick leave, or paid discretionary leave for leave otherwise provided under this section. However, nothing in this section, nor any other provision of this Agreement, shall require the School District to combine leaves for a period of time that exceeds 12 weeks.
S ubd. 2. Local Use: Leave, not to exceed 10 days per teacher per year, shall be granted to officers of the Exclusive Representative (local, regional, or state level) for attendance at meetings and other functions deemed to be important to the position held. Requests for leave must be made in writing to the Superintendent at least three days in advance. The request shall state the reason for the proposed leave. The District shall pay for all substitute costs incurred by the teacher’s absence and the Exclusive Representative shall reimburse the District for the officer’s absence from work at the officer’s daily rate of pay.
S ubd. 6. Decision: The decision by the arbitrator shall be rendered within 30 days after the close of the hearing. Decisions by the arbitrator in cases properly brought before him/ her shall be final and binding upon the parties.
S ubd. 2. Days: Reference to the word “days” regarding time periods in the procedure shall refer to working days. The term “working day” is defined as all weekdays not designated as holidays by state law.
S ubd. 3. Vendors: Participation in the benefits of this article is limited only to teachers who select one of the following vendors: Ameriprise Financial Aspire Xxxxxx Xxxx Life Insurance Company Lincoln National Life Insurance Company MEA ESI Educators Financial Assurance Thrivent Financial for Lutherans Vanguard Fiduciary Trust Company Variable Annuity Life Insurance Company
S ubd. 3 : Where the School District has available other group health plans, with respect to employees:
S ubd. 5: Reinstatement A teacher returning from childcare leave shall be reinstated to the original position or to a position of like status and pay unless previously discharged or placed on Unrequested Leave of Absence.
S ubd. 3: Honorariums Any honorariums paid to a teacher while on leave from the School District shall be reimbursed to the School District.
S ubd. 2: Reasons Such leaves may be granted by the School District for overseas teaching, Peace Corp, Vista, National Teacher Corps, extended illness of the teacher, extended illness of the teacher’s family, civic activities, alternative occupational experiences, employee organization activity, public office, or other reasons deemed appropriate by the School District.
