Salary Setting Upon Rehire. When employees are rehired from layoff status, the annual leave accrual date will be reestablished and extended by an amount of time in calendar days equal to the period of time spent on the rehire list prior to rehire. Employees placed from the rehire list into positions with the same minimum salary held at the time of layoff shall be placed in the position at the salary held at the time of layoff. Employees placed from the rehire list into positions with a lower minimum salary than held at the time of layoff shall be placed at a salary at the time of layoff, but not to exceed 120% of the minimum salary for the position to be filled. Salaries at the time of rehire shall not be lower than the minimum of the job into which they are rehired.

  • Salary Rate Upon Employment The hiring rate of pay for a new employee shall not be higher than the rate of pay for an existing employee in the same classification with similar work experience, training and education.
