Scheduling of Personal Days. At the time of initial vacation scheduling and upon its completion, employees may then schedule personal days for the next fiscal year (vacation period) on those days where no more than one (1) employee has scheduled vacation. Such scheduling will be conducted in the order of seniority and be incorporated into the vacation schedule prior to its submission to the Fire Chief for approval. Personal days so scheduled shall not be later affected by manpower levels. Personal day requests not scheduled with vacation may be taken in twelve (12) hour increments. Approval or reasonable denial of such requests, based on projected manpower levels, shall be given no later than the duty day prior to the duty day for which such request is made, except where the request is made for the same day. All approved personal day requests may not be later affected by manpower levels.
Scheduling of Personal Days. Personal days may be used in one (1) hour increments. The employee shall provide at least five (5) days advance notice for use of personal time off. The Director of Public Works, or his/her designee, may, in his reasonable discretion, allow a shorter time period for such advance notice if circumstances warrant consideration. Personal time off may not be unreasonably denied. Personal days are not accumulative from year to year.
