Section 14.5. 12 The District will notify the Association of all new hires within ten (10) working days of the hire date.
Section 14.5. 43 The Association shall give written notice to the District business office of: (a) the percentage amount of 44 dues required of a member of the Association, which dues are to be deducted during the school year under 45 payroll deductions. The deduction amount shall not be subject to change without at least thirty (30) calendar 46 days written notice to the District business office. Any such changes shall be implemented by the District 47 within sixty (60) calendar days of the written notice to the District business office.
Section 14.5. 6 An Education Point Approved Committee, appointed by the Superintendent, chaired by a central 7 administrator other than the person who denied the original request, and consisting further of a 8 Principal or Program Director and the President of the Association, shall meet on call to review a 9 written appeal from an employee where credit has not been granted for salary purposes. The written 10 appeal must be submitted to the Superintendent within five (5) working days of the denial.
Section 14.5. No Discrimination 27 All terms and conditions of employment included in this Agreement 28 shall be administered and applied without regard to race, color, 29 religion, national origin, status as a disabled or Vietnam era veteran, 30 age, gender, or the presence of a disability, except in those instances 31 where age, gender, or the absence of a disability may constitute a 32 bona fide occupational qualification. If administration and application 33 of the contract is not in contravention of federal or state law such 34 administration or application shall not be considered discrimination 35 under this Section 14.5. Notwithstanding any other provision of this 36 Section 14.5 or of this Agreement, a grievance alleging a violation of 37 this Section 14.5, shall be subject to the grievance procedure and
Section 14.5. 15 If requested by the employee, the District shall make an automatic deduction for the following:
Section 14.5. 2 For payroll purposes only, for employees who work in both PSE bargaining units, dues will be sent to 3 whichever unit they are included in for purposes of medical benefits (see Section 12.1.1.). However, 4 membership in the unit is determined by the recognition clause (Article I); not on which unit dues 5 money is paid to.
Section 14.5. 27 The Association shall hold the District harmless for the administration of this Article done pursuant to 28 this Article.
Section 14.5. 10 Nothing contained in this Agreement shall require Association membership of employees who object 11 to such membership based on bona fide religious tenets or teachings of a church or religious body of 12 which such employee is a member. Such employee shall pay an amount equivalent to normal dues to a 13 nonreligious charity or other charitable organization mutually agreed upon by the employee and the
Section 14.5. 20 Any employee who refuses to become a member of the Association in good standing, claim a bona fide 21 religious objection or pay the service charge in accordance with the previous sections, will, at the 22 option of the Association, be immediately discharged from employment by the District.
Section 14.5. 24 Provided the employee and the immediate administrative supervisors agree, and the section 25 grieved is not within the purview of the supervisor, step one and/or step two of the grievance 26 procedure may be bypassed and the grievance brought directly to the next step.
