Section 2 – Continuous Service. ‌ 2 Seniority shall mean the length of continuous service with the Hospital in the 3 bargaining unit. Seniority shall be determined by the date of entry to the 4 bargaining unit, adjusted in accordance with Article 7, Section 7.2. Seniority 5 for LPNs shall be determined by date of hire and job classification.

Section 2 – Continuous Service. 2 Continuous service (for the purpose of determining eligibility for accelerated 3 vacation accumulation rates) shall be service unbroken by separation from 4 the County service, except that time spent by an employee on military leave, 5 on an authorized leave of absence with pay, or on a leave without pay 6 resulting from a compensable workers’ compensation claim shall be included 7 as continuous service. Time spent on other types of authorized leave will not 8 count as part of continuous service except employees returning from such 9 leave, or employees who were laid off shall be entitled to credit for service 11 any month in which an employee has more than ten (10) working days of 12 leave without pay shall be considered as a non-continuous month for the 13 purpose of determining credits.

Time spent on other types of authorized leave in excess of 16 working days will not count as part of continuous service, except employees returning from such leaves or employees who were laid off shall be entitled to credit for service prior to the leave.
