Common use of Shift Break Clause in Contracts

Shift Break. All employees’ work schedules shall provide for a fifteen (15) minute rest period during each one-half shift. The rest period shall be at the middle of each one-half shift, whenever this is feasible. Employees, who for any reason work beyond their regular quitting time into the next shift, shall receive a fifteen (15) minute rest period before they start on such next shift. In addition, they shall be granted the regular rest periods that occur during the shift.

The rest period shall be at the middle of each one-half shift, whenever this is feasible. Food Service employees shall be entitled to a ten- minute rest period if working less than four hours. Employees, who for any reason work beyond their regular quitting time into the next shift, shall receive a fifteen fifteen- (15) minute rest period before they start on such next shift. In addition, they shall be granted the regular rest periods that occur during the shift.
