Shift Employees - Overtime. For all time worked in excess of the ordinary working hours prescribed by this Agreement or on a shift other than a rostered shift, the rate of pay will be:  if employed on continuous work, double time; or  if employed on other shift work, time and a half for the first three (3) hours and double time thereafter. However, where time is worked  by arrangement between the employees themselves; or  for the purpose of effecting the customary rotation of shifts; or  on a shift to which an employee is transferred on short notice as an alternative to standing down the employee as provided for in this Agreement, then payment will be at rates applicable to the scheduled roster.

  • Shift Employees Employees who work rotating shift patterns or those who work qualifying shifts shall be entitled, on completion of 12 months employment on shift work, to up to an additional 5 days annual leave, based on the number of qualifying shifts worked. The entitlement will be calculated on the annual leave anniversary date. Qualifying shifts are defined as a shift which involves at least 2 hours work performed outside the hours of 8.00am to 5.00pm, excluding overtime.
