Common use of Sick Leave During Leave of Absence Clause in Contracts

Sick Leave During Leave of Absence. and Lay-Off This is not the official version. When an employee is given paid vacation or special paid leave of absence, or while on Workplace Health and Safety Commission compensation the employee shall receive sick leave credit for the period of such absence on return to work. When an employee is laid off on account of lack of work the employee shall not receive sick leave credits for the period of such absence but shall retain his/her accumulated credit, if any, existing at the time of such lay-off.
