Sick Leave Regulations. 1. Sick leave credit shall be computed on the basis of the employment year beginning August 1 and ending July 31. 2. All employees except substitutes shall be entitled to a maximum of 15 days sick leave computed at the rate of 1.25 credit for each completed month of service. A completed month of service shall consist of a calendar month. 3. Sick leave for all employees shall be accumulated in an amount not to exceed 270 days. 4. Sick leave shall be paid for absence due to the following: a. Personal illness, pregnancy, injury or exposure to contagious diseases which could be communicated to others.
Sick Leave Regulations. A. Every person who will be employed in a regular position for at least thirty (30) days (as outlined in AB1522), except temporary, seasonal or part-time employees, shall receive 8 hours of sick leave with pay for each full month of employment or major portion thereof. Said regular employees may use their accrued sick leave as early as the 90th day of employment. B. Sick leave credit may be accumulated without limitation. C. A bargaining unit member may use: 1) sick leave for his or her own actual illness or injury; and 2) up to 48 hours of sick leave per year to attend to the illness of the member's child, spouse, or parent or any other reason allowed pursuant to AB 1522.

Part-time employees regularly appointed by the Board will be granted paid sick leave in proportion to their period of service. d. Payment for absence covered by sick leave for new employees, or those with no accumulation of credit from prior years of service, shall be withheld until such employee actually reports for duty and begins service. Each new employee who has had no opportunity to accumulate sick leave shall be credited with ten (10) days sick leave, but no additional sick leave shall be credited until the amount earned equals or exceeds ten (10) days. e. Previously accumulated sick leave of new employees transferring from other public agencies in Ohio shall be recognized and credited by the Board as provided by law. f. No employee shall lose the accumulated sick leave allowance by reason of having been on leave of absence, nor shall he/she accumulate any additional days of allowance during the leave of absence. g. In the event an employee has been given credit for more sick leave benefits than he/she has earned, a deduction shall be made from the last paycheck covering the difference between the amount of sick leave earned and the amount previously allowed. h. Full-time employment is interpreted as at least six (6) hours per day, five (5) days per week, according to type of work, per calendar month. i. Part-time employment is interpreted as regularly appointed by the Board, but working less than six (6) hours per day.
Sick Leave Regulations. Teachers employed to teach continuously for a school term are full time employees and are entitled to one and one-fourth (1¼) days sick leave per month and cumulative to two hundred seventy (270) days. If a teacher has a serious health condition that makes him/her unable to perform the functions of his/her position and he/she wishes to take leave for this reason, he/she must first use his/her accrued sick leave and then use his/her accrued personal leave to do so. Absence of the teacher due to illness, injury, or death of a teacher’s immediate family. The immediate family shall be interpreted to mean anyone living in the same household or father, mother, father-in-law, mother-in-law, brother, sister, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, husband, wife, children, grandchildren, grandmother or grandfather. A leave for a death outside of the immediate family may be granted for the day of the funeral with the Superintendent’s approval. Sick leave days for a death other than spouse, child, parents, or parents-in- law shall be limited to no more than four (4) working days including the day of funeral, unless extenuating circumstances warrant special consideration. Requests for more sick leave should be directed to the Superintendent as soon as possible. 5. Cumulative sick leave is available to each teacher at the beginning of his/her term of employment during any year. 6. A teacher who is absent due to illness for more than five (5) days in succession, excluding weekends, may be required to furnish a signed statement from a licensed physician that his/her absence was caused by illness due to the preceding causes.
Sick Leave Regulations. The City agrees to continue all processes and procedures pertaining to sick leave regulations contained in Section 14-227 of the City of Houston Code of Ordinances, except as modified herein. Each UM’s absence for an eligible reason after eighty (80) hours within a benefit year, regardless of the duration of the absence, whether taken cumulatively or in a single event, shall be verified by an attending health care provider's statement on a form promulgated or approved by the HR Director. Verification may be required prior to the use of 80 hours of sick leave in any instance of potential abuse of sick leave.

Such compensation shall not be deducted from the employee's sick leave credit, or comp time if any. The employee shall be entitled to full pay during the waiting period, even in the absence of sick leave or comp time. E. When weekly Disability payments are being made under State Disability or Workers' Compensation laws, accrued Sick Leave Benefits may be used provided that the total amount received by the employee shall not exceed normal compensation. The burden of proving the payment of Worker’s Compensation Benefits is with the employee, so that prorated Sick Leave Benefits can be computed. ▇. ▇▇▇▇▇ consents to allow sick leave to be used when a member of the immediate family (mother, father, son, daughter, wife, or husband) is sick and needs care by the employee.
