Skills for Life Survey. ‌ The Skills for Life surveys were developed as a way of evaluating the effectiveness of the Skills for Life strategy which was established following the launch of the Xxxxx report that highlighted the major skills deficit among adults in England. Two waves of the Skills for Life (SfL) survey were carried out in 2003 and 2011 to provide a measure of national literacy and numeracy skills (Windisch, 2015). The SfL covered people aged between 16 to 65 who were resident in England. In the 2011 wave, there were 7,873 and 7,517 people who took part in the literacy and numeracy assessments, respectively. There was also a portion of the test which covered computing (ICT) skills which 4,464 people participated in. As detailed by Xxxxxxxx (2003), individuals who participated in the literacy and numeracy assessments in the SfL survey were categorised into five levels based on their test scores according to national standards and approximate schooling level equivalent. Entry level 1 skills should coincide with Key Stage 1 which covers age 5-7, entry level 2 should match Key Stage 2 covering ages 7-9 while entry level 2 was designed to cover key stage 3 for pupils aged between 9 and 11. Level 1 skills were designed to match GCSE grades D-G and equivalent to ability at age 11-14. The highest skill level was level 2 which was equivalent to GCSE grades A*-C (age 14-16). The literacy and numeracy components of the test were administered by an interviewer who entered the responses given by the respondents into the computer. Thus, respondents were not tested on written work or listening comprehension as respondents read out items from the computer themselves. This process also had consequences for numeracy assessment as even numeracy questions were presented in English and relied on respondents reading the questions accurately. The overall results showed that about 44 percent of 16-65 year olds who took part in the assessments had level 2 literacy skills, followed closely by level 1 skills which had a corresponding share of 40 percent. Only about 16 percent of the population covered by the survey had entry level literacy skills. This share was highest for entry level 3 skills (11 percent) with only 3 and 2 percent respectively falling under entry level 2 and entry level 1 or lower.   • Survey Buyer may obtain a survey of the Property before the Closing to assure that there are no defects, encroachments, overlaps, boundary line or acreage disputes, or other such matters, that would be disclosed by a survey ("Survey Problems"). The cost of the survey shall be paid by the Buyer. Not later than business days prior to the Closing, Buyer shall notify Seller of any Survey Problems which shall be deemed to be a defect in the title to the Property. Seller shall be required to remedy such defects within business days and prior to the Closing. If the survey reveals encroachments on the Property or that the improvements encroach on the lands of another, such encroachments will constitute a title defect. The Buyer shall have the right to terminate this Agreement with written notice to the Seller within calendar days of being notified of said title defect.

  • Surveys Each Borrower shall submit the Ship owned by it regularly to all periodical or other surveys which may be required for classification purposes and, if so required by the Security Trustee provide the Security Trustee, with copies of all survey reports.
