Student Grievance Procedure. If you feel that your rights have been violated follow the procedure below:

Whenever a student brings a grievance against a member of the bargaining unit to the attention of the College administrator, the administrator shall inform the unit member of the nature of the allegation prior to conducting an investigation. Upon investigation, if the administrator or his/her designee finds probable cause, but the nature of the grievance is not of a serious nature to warrant disciplinary action, the administrator shall attempt to resolve the matter informally. Upon investigation, if the administrator or his/her designee finds a probable cause and the nature of the grievance is of a serious nature to potentially warrant disciplinary action, the administrator shall advise the bargaining unit member, the Union, and the Xxxx of the nature of the complaint and the name of the grievant. The Xxxx of the Division shall complete the investigation and hold a hearing within fifteen (15) school days. Following the hearing, the Xxxx shall, within ten (10) school days, render a final decision. The parties agree to extend the time sequence outlined above to the end of the semester should the student grievant so request. The bargaining unit member shall be entitled to have Union representation at the hearing or any investigatory meeting at which the bargaining unit member is required to be present. The bargaining unit member may attach his/her response to any material placed in the unit member's file as a result of the hearing. Any material placed in the bargaining unit member's file and later shown to be unfounded will be removed. Nothing in this provision precludes a bargaining unit member from filing a grievance under Article VI of the Labor Agreement.
