SUBCOMMITTEE ON TECHNICAL BARRIERS TO TRADE. 1. The Subcommittee on Technical Barriers to Trade established pursuant to Chapter 13 (Institutional Provisions) shall have the following functions: (a) working in order to facilitate implementation of this Chapter and cooperation between the Parties in all matters pertaining to this Chapter; (b) monitoring the implementation, enforcement and administration of this Chapter; (c) promptly addressing any issue that a Party raises related to the development, adoption, application or enforcement of standards, technical regulations, or conformity assessment procedures; (d) improving joint cooperation between the Parties in the areas mentioned in Article 753 (e) conducting negotiations for mutual recognition agreements; (f) exchanging information, at a Party's request, on standards, technical regulations, and conformity assessment procedures, including the Parties' respective views regarding non-Party issues; (g) exchanging information on developments in non-governmental, regional and multilateral fora engaged in activities related to standards, technical regulations and conformity assessment procedures; (h) consulting, at a Party's written request, with the aim of solving any matter arising under this Chapter within a reasonable period of time; (i) reviewing this Chapter in light of any developments under the TBT Committee and, if necessary, developing recommendations for amendments to this Chapter; (j) establishing issue or sector-specific ad hoc working groups, if necessary to achieve the objectives of this Chapter; and (k) taking any other steps that the Parties consider will assist them in implementing this Chapter. 2. The Subcommittee shall meet upon request of a Party. Meetings may be conducted in person, via teleconference, videoconference, or any other means as mutually determined by the Parties. 3. In a dispute on matters covered by this Chapter, consultations pursuant to paragraph 1(h) shall be mandatory in order to activate the procedures provided in Chapter 12 (Dispute Settlement). 4. The contact points set out in Annex 7-A shall be responsible for coordinating with the relevant authorities and persons in their respective countries as well as ensuring that such authorities and persons are in contact.

SUBCOMMITTEE ON TECHNICAL BARRIERS TO TRADE. 1. A Sub­Committee on Technical Barriers to Trade (hereinafter referred to as the “TBT Sub­Committee”) is hereby established under the Joint Committee. 2. The functions of the TBT Sub­Committee shall be: (a) monitoring the implementation of this Chapter; (b) coordinating technical cooperation activities; (c) facilitating technical consultations pursuant to Article 6.8 (d) identifying sectors for enhanced cooperation, including giving favourable consideration to any sector­specific proposal made by either Party; (e) establishing dialogues between regulators in accordance with the objectives of this Chapter; (f) initiating side agreements where appropriate pursuant to Article 6.9; (g) coordinating the implementation of side agreements pursuant to 6.9; (h) consulting on any issue prior to meetings of relevant international organisations, if appropriate; (i) other functions mutually agreed by the Parties; and (j) carrying out other tasks assigned to it by the Joint Committee. 3. The TBT Sub­Committee shall be co­chaired and meet once a year, unless otherwise agreed by the Parties. The TBT Sub­Committee meetings may be conducted by any agreed method on a case by case basis and may be combined with those of the Sub­Committee on Sanitary and Phytosanitary Measures established under Article 7.9. 4. The TBT Sub­Committee shall keep up to date a work­programme and keep track of its activities.

  • Technical Barriers to Trade 1. The Parties or Signatory Parties shall apply technical regulations, standards and conformity assessment procedures in accordance with the provisions of the WTO Agreement on Technical Barriers to Trade. 2. The Parties or Signatory Parties shall cooperate in the fields of technical regulations, standardization and conformity assessment procedures, with the aim of facilitating trade.

  • Function of Joint Health and Safety Committee All incidents involving aggression or violence shall be brought to the attention of the Joint Health and Safety Committee. The Employer agrees that the Joint Health and Safety Committee shall concern itself with all matters relating to violence to staff.

  • Joint Safety Committee (a) The Union and the Company shall cooperate in selecting one or more Safety Committees, which will meet at least once a month to consider all safety and occupational health problems. (b) The local Joint Safety Committee shall consist of equal representation from Company and Union. This Committee shall meet at least once a month to consider all safety and occupational health problems.

  • Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee The Employer and the Union recognize the role of the joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee in promoting a safe and healthful workplace. The parties agree that a Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee shall be established for each Employer covered by this Collective Agreement. The Committee shall govern itself in accordance with the provisions of the Industrial Health and Safety Regulations made pursuant to the Workers’ Compensation Act. The Committee shall be as between the Employer and the Union, with equal representation, and with each party appointing its own representatives. Representatives of the Union shall be chosen by the Union membership or appointed by the Union. All minutes of the meetings of the Joint Occupational Health & Safety Committee will be recorded in a mutually agreeable format and will be sent to the Union. The Union further agrees to actively pursue with the other Health Care Unions a Joint Union Committee for the purposes of this Article. The Employer agrees to provide or cause to be provided to Employer members of the Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee adequate training and orientation to the duties and responsibilities of committee members to allow the incumbents to fulfil those duties competently. The Union agrees to provide or cause to be provided to Union members of the Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee adequate training and orientation to the duties and responsibilities of committee members to allow the incumbents to fulfil those duties competently. Such training and orientation shall take place within six (6) months of taking office.

  • Occupational Health and Safety Committee ‌ (a) The parties agree that a joint occupational health and safety committee will be established. The Committee shall govern itself in accordance with the provisions of the Occupational Health and Safety Regulations made pursuant to the Workers Compensation Act. The Committee shall be between the Employer and the Union, with equal representation, and with each party appointing its own representatives. The Union agrees to actively pursue with the other Health Care unions, where more than one union is certified with the Employer, a joint union/employer committee for the purposes of the Occupational Health and Safety Regulations. (b) Employees who are members of the Committee shall be granted leave without loss of pay or receive straight-time regular wages while attending meetings of the Joint Committee. Employees who are members of the Committee shall be granted leave without loss of pay or receive straight-time regular wages to participate in joint workplace inspections and joint accident investigations at the request of the Committee pursuant to the WCB Occupational Health and Safety Regulations. Committee meetings, workplace inspections and accident investigations shall be scheduled during normal working hours whenever practicable. (c) The Occupational Health and Safety Committee shall have as part of its mandate the jurisdiction to receive complaints or concerns regarding workload problems which are safety-related, the right to investigate such complaints, the right to define the problem and the right to make recommendations for a solution. Where the Committee determines that a safety-related workload problem exists, it shall inform the Employer. Within 21 days thereafter, the Employer shall advise the Committee what steps it has taken or proposes to take to rectify the safety-related workload problem identified by the Committee. If the Union is not satisfied with the Employer's response, it may refer the matter to the Industry Trouble shooter for a written recommendation. (d) No employee shall be disciplined for refusal to work when excused by the provisions of the

  • Procurement Planning Prior to the issuance of any invitations to bid for contracts, the proposed procurement plan for the Project shall be furnished to the Association for its review and approval, in accordance with the provisions of paragraph 1 of Appendix 1 to the Guidelines. Procurement of all goods and works shall be undertaken in accordance with such procurement plan as shall have been approved by the Association, and with the provisions of said paragraph 1.

  • Electronic and Information Resources Accessibility and Security Standards a. Applicability: The following Electronic and Information Resources (“EIR”) requirements apply to the Contract because the Grantee performs services that include EIR that the System Agency's employees are required or permitted to access or members of the public are required or permitted to access. This Section does not apply to incidental uses of EIR in the performance of the Agreement, unless the Parties agree that the EIR will become property of the State of Texas or will be used by HHSC’s clients or recipients after completion of the Agreement. Nothing in this section is intended to prescribe the use of particular designs or technologies or to prevent the use of alternative technologies, provided they result in substantially equivalent or greater access to and use of a Product.

  • Information Technology The following applies to all contracts for information technology commodities and contractual services. “Information technology” is defined in section 287.012(15), F.S., to have the same meaning as provided in section 282.0041, F.S.

  • DEVELOPMENT OR ASSISTANCE IN DEVELOPMENT OF SPECIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS/ STATEMENTS OF WORK

  • Accident Prevention Health and Safety Committee (a) The Employer and the Union agree that they mutually desire to maintain standards of safety and health in the workplace in order to prevent accidents, injury and illness. (b) Recognizing its responsibilities under the applicable legislation, the Employer agrees to accept as a member of its Accident Prevention – Health & Safety Committee at least three (3) representatives, one from each base, selected or appointed by the Union from amongst bargaining unit employees. At any time where a vote is required, an equal number of representatives from each side shall be entitled to vote. (c) Such Committee shall identify potential dangers and hazards, institute means of improving health and safety programs and recommend actions to be taken to improve conditions related to safety and health. (d) The Employee agrees to co-operate reasonably in providing necessary information to enable the Committee to fulfill its functions. (e) Meetings shall be held quarterly or more frequently at the call of the Chair if required. The Committee shall maintain minutes of all meetings and make the same available for review. (f) Any representative appointed or select in accordance with (b) hereof shall serve a term of one (1) calendar year from the date of appointment which may be renewed for further periods of one (1) year. The Union will encourage its representative(s) to serve at least one (1) year. Time off for such representative(s) to attend meetings of the Accident Prevention – Health & Safety Committee in accordance with the foregoing shall be granted and time so spent attending such meetings shall be deemed to be work time for which the representative(s) shall be paid by the Employer at his regular or premium rate as may be applicable. (g) The Union agrees to endeavour to obtain the full co-operation of its membership in the observation of all safety rules and practices. (h) Pregnant employees may request to be transferred from their current duties if, in the professional opinion of the employee’s physician, the pregnancy may be at risk. If such a transfer is not feasible, the pregnant employee, if she so requests, will be granted an unpaid leave of absence before commencement of the maternity leave referred to in Article 16.04
