Teacher Assault. Any case of assault upon a teacher in pursuit of his or her duties shall be promptly reported to the administration. The Board shall not prohibit the teacher from exercising his or her legal rights with respect to such assault. A teacher who is the victim of such an assault or severe verbal threats in appropriately carrying out the teacher’s responsibilities shall be assisted by the building principal or the Superintendent in communications and conferences with law enforcement officials.

Teacher Assault. Section A. In any case of assault upon a teacher, the administration shall promptly render all reason- able assistance to prevent injury to the teacher, when possible. The assault shall be promptly reported to the BOARD on a form mutually agreed to by the ASSOCIATION and the BOARD. The BOARD will advise the assaulted teacher of his/her rights and obligations with respect to the incident of the assault.
Teacher Assault. Any case of attempted or actual physical assault upon a teacher shall be promptly reported to the immediate supervisor. The immediate supervisor shall immediately report any such incident to the Central Administration for referral to legal counsel. The Board of Education and legal counsel shall review the Code of Student Discipline to determine appropriate action. The Board will provide legal counsel to advise the teacher of all rights and obligations with respect to such assault and shall render all reasonable assistance to the teacher in connection with the handling of the incident bylaw enforcement and judicial authorities. The teacher involved shall be informed of the disposition before the decision is made public.
Teacher Assault. 46.01 The Board and the Teachers agree that all Teachers have the right to a workplace free from any type of assault.
Teacher Assault. The parties agree that a joint committee shall be established composed of three (3) representatives appointed by each side to address the issue of “assaults on teachers by students.” Such committee shall issue its recommendations to the Board no later than June 1998. If the Board does not amend the currentTeacher Assaults” policy by September 15, 1998, the parties agree to reopen negotiations on that date limited to that issue only. In the interim, the current policy shall be in force except where inconsistent with applicable law.
Teacher Assault. For absences during the school year occasioned by injury arising out of the course of his/her employment, an employee shall be covered by workers’ compensation for the days of absence during the school year in which the injury was incurred. Such days of absence shall not be charged against the accumulated total of sick leave days to the credit of the employee at the time of injury. In all such cases of leave, the School Committee shall request a statement from the attending physician certifying as to the nature of this injury, disease, or illness and the inability of the employee to resume teaching duties. Within 48 hours of said incident, the allegedly assaulted teacher may request a meeting with the building principal and a representative of the Association to discuss said incident, hopefully to the satisfaction of all parties involved.
