Teachers on Leave of Absence. Teachers on approved leave of absence shall be allowed to continue participation in any group insurance plan available for teachers (except Long-term Disability and Workers’ Compensation) provided they pay the premium themselves. Teachers participating in any of the insurance plans available shall prepay the District on a quarterly basis. Teachers who cancel their participation shall not be eligible to reenroll for the insurance until they return to work. Teachers choosing to take benefits under the Federal Family and Medical Leave Act should contact the District insurance department for clarification.
