Teachers on industrial accident and illness leave shall continue to be provided with the full range of fringe benefits as provided in the Agreement.
Teachers on. Special Assignment shall not be counted in the normal student to teacher ratios that govern class size overages and caps.
Teachers on. Special Assignment shall work the same contractual day and year as a regular teacher and be paid the same as a regular teacher according to the salary schedule in the Collective Bargaining Agreement. A TOSA may be paid a per diem rate for up to an additional five (5) days per year beyond the regular contractual year and may be scheduled for five (5) flex days during the year.
Teachers on. Regular Contracts will be paid according to a salary schedule for that position, as adopted by the Board. New teacher assignments on the schedule will be made in accordance with the following:
1. Years of experience; maximum seven, including years of active military service for newly employed teachers holding a Bachelor’s degree and placed on Class III of the approved teachers’ salary schedule, or maximum eight, including years of active military service for newly employed teachers holding a Bachelor’s degree and placed on Class IV or Class V of the approved teachers’ salary schedule, or maximum ten, including years of active military service for newly employed teachers holding a Master’s degree and placed on Class VI, VII, VIII, IX, or X of the approved teachers’ salary schedule. “Years of experience”, as used herein shall mean:
a. Teaching as a regular teacher for 120 days or more in any school year in any elementary or secondary public school.
b. Teaching as a regular teacher for 120 days or more in any school year in a nonpublic elementary or secondary school chartered by the Ohio Department of Education. Such teacher must have taught under a valid Ohio Department of Education certificate/license.
c. Teaching full time in a fully accredited public college or university for one or more academic years.
d. Teaching full time in a fully accredited private Ohio college or university for one or more academic years.
e. Teaching on an assistantship while working for an advanced degree shall not be considered a full-time teaching position.
f. Teaching as a substitute in an Ohio public elementary or secondary school district for 120 days or more in any school year. Substitute days in more than one district in any school year shall not be combined to meet the 120-day minimum.
Teachers on. Special Assignment may have their work year extended up to an additional five (5) days per year with mutual consent (with the exception of Article 13.11.2)
Teachers on. Medium Term Educational Leave may qualify for NLSD Bursaries under Section 7 of this agreement.
Teachers on a ten-month contract shall be allowed ten (10) days sick leave per year; teachers whose contracts are extended to an additional month in the summer for continuation of the regular duties shall be allowed eleven (11) sick leave days per year; and teachers on a twelve-month contract shall be allowed twelve (12) days sick leave per year.
Teachers on call who were not available for work when a replacement teacher was assigned, shall be offered the opportunity on the day they become available to take over the continuity of such assignment from the replacement teacher if such an assignment begins as or becomes a consecutive, multiple day assignment. It is expected that teachers-on-call will give consideration to their availability to complete the full assignment before accepting the offer.
Teachers on. Exchange Leaves shall be paid full salary. All regular deductions shall be made, and insurance programs shall be continued.
Teachers on. Special Assignment working as Teacher Technology Specialist shall have an extended work year of 205 days.
