Temporary COVID-19 Paid Sick Leave a. An employee shall receive temporary COVID-19 paid sick leave for each day that the employee is absent from work due to an Eligible COVID-19 Event for which the employee is not otherwise paid by the Producer until the earlier of the following: The employee returns to work or declines to return to work; or The end of the employee’s guaranteed employment period, provided that, for purposes of determining temporary COVID-19 paid sick leave, this period shall include the number of days that it was reasonably anticipated that the employee would work. However, in no event shall an employee receive more than a total of ten (10) days of temporary COVID-19 paid sick leave per Producer, which may cover one or more Eligible COVID-19 Events. b. There shall be no accrual period. Temporary COVID-19 paid sick leave shall be immediately available to employees upon commencing work. c. Temporary COVID-19 paid sick leave may be used for any of the following “Eligible COVID-19 Events,” or any combination of Eligible COVID-19 Events: i. The employee has tested positive for COVID-19 or exhibited symptoms of COVID-19. ii. The Producer has requested that the employee isolate or self-quarantine because another person with whom he or she has been in close contact has tested positive for COVID-19 or exhibited symptoms of COVID-19. iii. A member of the employee’s household has tested positive for COVID-19 or exhibited symptoms of COVID-19. iv. A public official or healthcare provider has requested that the employee isolate or self-quarantine due to COVID-19 (other than a quarantine described in Item 8 below). v. The Employee must provide care for a child or senior, whose childcare or senior care provider ceases operations due to COVID-19. vi. The Employee needs to care for a child, parent or spouse who is subject to a federal, state or local quarantine or isolation order related to COVID-19 or has been advised by a healthcare provider to self-quarantine related to COVID-19. d. For each day of temporary COVID-19 paid sick leave used by an employee, the employee shall receive payment as set forth below, based on the employee’s contracted rate, but in no event more than $750 ($750 CAD, if applicable) per day and $7,500 ($7,500 CAD, if applicable) in the aggregate. An employee who is paid his/her full regular salary or guarantee for a period that includes absence due to an Eligible COVID-19 Event shall not receive temporary COVID-19 paid sick leave in addition to his/her salary or guar...

  • Paid Sick Leave For those jurisdictions that have passed or will pass legislation requiring Paid Sick Leave, Paid Sick Time will be billed back to Client at the straight-time bill rate for all hours taken by any Consultant assigned to Client. This section is not applicable until the effective date of such legislation has been reached.

  • TEMPORARY LEAVE OF ABSENCE A. Members shall be entitled to the following temporary leaves of absence with full pay each school year. Such days of temporary leave must be taken as either one-half (1/2) or one (1) full working day. No personal leaves of absence shall be taken immediately prior to or immediately after holidays or vacations. Any exceptions must be requested in writing to the Superintendent or his designee and must have written approval. 1. Members are entitled to three (3) days personal leave annually subject to advance notice and approval secured from the Superintendent or designee. Personal leave means an activity that requires the member’s presence during the working day and is of such a nature that it cannot be attended to at a time when schools are not in session. Unused personal days shall be transferred to accumulated sick leave time on July 1st each year of this Agreement and all succeeding Agreements. 2. Up to five (5) working days at any one time shall be granted to members in the event of death of a member’s spouse, child, son-in- law, daughter-in-law, parent, father-in-law, mother-in-law, brother, sister, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, grandparent, or any person with whom the member has made his/her home, and any other member of the immediate household. 3. In the case of the death of a near relative, defined as first cousin, uncle, aunt, niece or nephew, there shall be no deduction from personal leave entitlement of up to three (3) days, subject to advance notice to and approval of the Superintendent. 4. A member shall also be granted a reasonable amount of bereavement time with full pay for the purpose of travel in cases where the funeral is out of state. Such time off is subject to the approval of the Assistant Superintendent to whom the member is reportable. 5. Any other leave of absence granted by the Board may be without pay. 6. No leave of absence with pay shall be granted due to the requirements of a second job. 7. Professional leave for such purposes as attending meetings, seminars and visiting other schools may be granted. 8. If a member is subpoenaed by a court of law to appear on behalf of the Board, such member shall do so without loss of pay.

  • Unused Sick Leave The accrual of unused sick leave hours is unlimited. The City and the Union commit to the evaluation and establishment of a mutually beneficial non-use of sick leave incentive and pay-out policy. Until such time that a policy is established, accumulated sick leave shall be compensated as follows: Upon retirement from the City service, an employee shall be paid sixty percent (60%) of his accumulated sick leave, with the rate of payment based upon his regular pay at the time he retires. Upon the death of an employee, his beneficiary shall be paid sixty percent (60%) of his accumulated unused sick leave, with the payment based upon his regular pay at the date of his death.

  • Cumulative Sick Leave The normal cumulative sick leave allowance each year shall be ten (10) days for employees on thirty-eight (38) through forty-two (42) week assignments. Teachers on eleven (11) and twelve (12) month assignments shall receive one (1) day per month up to a maximum of twelve (12) days each year. A teacher shall be permitted to carry forward the unused portion of sick leave without limit. The balance of accumulated sick leave shall be printed on the teacher's bi-weekly statement of earnings.

  • Temporary Leave Teachers who are members of UTW, at the request of UTW, shall be granted leave to participate in certain UTW activities subject to and in accordance with policies of the Board and administrative guidelines.

  • Sick Leave During Leave of Absence (F/T) When an Employee is given leave of absence without pay for any reason, or is laid off on account of lack of work, he/she shall not continue to accumulate sick leave and shall not be entitled to receive pay for sickness for the period of such absence, but shall retain his/her cumulative credit, if any, existing at the time of such leave or lay-off.

  • Temporary Layoff The Employer may temporarily layoff an employee for up to ninety (90) days due to an unanticipated loss of funding, revenue shortfall, lack of work, shortage of material or equipment, or other unexpected or unusual reasons. An employee will normally receive seven (7) days notice of a temporary layoff.
