Temporary Faculty Members. Temporary faculty members with a minimum of a one-semester appointment will be paid in biweekly installments. Paychecks will begin the payday following the pay period in which the first day of work occurred. The final paycheck will be received on the payday immediately following the pay period in which the final day of work occurs.

Temporary Faculty Members. A temporary faculty member is one who is assigned two or more continuous teaching blocks each of three months or greater and with a workload within each of 50% or greater with no breaks greater than 31 days between the blocks. Earned vacation and P.D. arising from the initial qualifying period may be scheduled in between teaching and accountable time assignments to maintain continuity of benefits. When temporary positions are not identified in advance, contract faculty members who subsequently qualify as above will be made temporary retroactive to the qualifying date. A temporary faculty member has the same rights and obligations as a regular faculty member and is entitled to all benefits provided by this Agreement on a pro-rated basis with the following exceptions (Article 1.04(g), Article 6, and Article 7) When the Employer replaces a regular faculty member on leave, long-term disability, alternate duty, or fills a position that exists but that is not expected to be ongoing and the workload available is defined as temporary as outlined above, the Employer will issue a temporary appointment.
Temporary Faculty Members. (a) Temporary faculty members who hold a one (1) quarter appointment shall be entitled to up to two (2) workweeks of paid medical leave during the term of their appointment. Any leave taken beyond two (2) workweeks in a quarter for the reasons described in Section 12.1.3 shall be unpaid and may, at the discretion of the academic xxxx following consultation with area faculty, result in termination of the temporary faculty member’s contract. (b) Temporary faculty who hold an appointment for more than one (1) quarter shall be entitled to up to two (2) workweeks of paid medical leave during each quarter of their contract appointment. Any leave taken beyond two (2) workweeks in a quarter for the reasons described in Section 12.1.3 shall be unpaid. At the discretion of the academic deans following consultation with area faculty, a temporary faculty member with an appointment for multiple quarters who exhausts his/her paid medical leave during a quarter may be required to remain on unpaid through the end of the quarter. If the faculty member remains unable to resume his/her responsibilities at the start of a succeeding quarter, he/she may be required to remain on unpaid leave. (c) Unused medical leave does not carry over from one (1) contract or one (1) quarter to another, and may not be converted to cash under any circumstances.

  • Temporary Roads As necessary to attain stabilization of roadbed and fill slopes of Temporary Roads, Purchaser shall employ such measures as out- sloping, drainage dips, and water-spreading ditches.

  • Temporary Layoff The Employer may temporarily layoff an employee for up to ninety (90) days due to an unanticipated loss of funding, revenue shortfall, lack of work, shortage of material or equipment, or other unexpected or unusual reasons. An employee will normally receive seven (7) days notice of a temporary layoff.

  • Temporary Layoffs A. The Employer may initiate a temporary layoff for up to twelve (12) working days per fiscal year. Employees will be given thirty (30) days’ notice before the effective date of a temporary layoff. Employees may request alternative temporary layoff days from their manager or supervisor and any requests will be considered and approved or denied in writing. B. A temporary layoff will not affect an employee’s incremental movement, vacation and sick leave accrual rates, or seniority. C. A temporary layoff is leave without pay. An employee may not use any leave for a temporary layoff day(s).

  • Temporary Upgrade An employee in a temporary upgrade status shall have no right to grieve or arbitrate release from such temporary upgrade status.

  • Temporary Work Temporary work results from replacing a faculty member on leave, or assigned to other duties, or work that is a result of a time limited contract/project.

  • Temporary Positions A) The Employer may create regular temporary positions for vacation relief for more than one (1) incumbent for up to six (6) months duration. B) The Employer may create regular temporary project positions (i.e. grant funded, capital projects, pilot projects, or term specific assignments) for up to twelve (12) months’ duration. These positions are not renewable after the end date of the project, unless the Union and Employer agree to renew/extend the time limits. C) These positions will be posted and filled in accordance with Article 17.01-

  • Temporary Vacancy A vacancy in a position caused by the regularly assigned occupant being absent from duty (including on vacation but excluding pre-retirement vacation) or temporarily assigned to other duties.

  • Temporary Suspension JetBrains reserves the right to suspend Customer’s access to JetBrains Products if Customer or User’s use of Product is in violation of this Agreement or disrupts or imminently threatens the security, integrity, or availability of a Product.
