Common use of Temporary Upgrades Clause in Contracts

Temporary Upgrades. In the event an employee is assigned by the Company to temporarily perform work in a higher rated classification for one (1) full shift or more, the pay shall be an additional sixteen dollars ($16.00) for such tours of duty. Where an employee is assigned by the Company to temporarily perform work in a higher rated classification for less than one (1) full shift, the pay shall be an additional two dollars ($2.00) for every hour the upgraded work is performed. The payment will not apply to temporary upgrades performed on Paid Holidays. 14.9.1 If an upgrade is needed for 60 days or more, the position shall be posted and filled as per Article 9.2.
