Temporary Work Outside of Classification. A. Where a vacancy occurs in any Jefferson Transit Authority position which is to be filled by detail or temporary appointment, or if temporary work becomes available, Employees who are capable and desirous of doing the work shall be given first consideration before any outside help is employed. Among Employees seeking any such position, seniority shall be one of the considerations in the selection for detail or temporary appointment. B. When an Employee is assigned to work outside of their classification, they shall receive the rate of pay for the classification in which they are working or the Employee’s regular classification, whichever is greater. However, an Employee may volunteer to work in a classification at a lower rate of pay.

  • Temporary Work Temporary work results from replacing a faculty member on leave, or assigned to other duties, or work that is a result of a time limited contract/project.

  • Work Out of Classification (a) When an employee is assigned for a limited period to perform the duties of a position at a higher level classification for more than ten (10) consecutive calendar days (or the equivalent thereof for alternate or flexible schedules), the employee shall be paid five percent (5%) above the employee’s base rate of pay or the first step of the higher salary range, whichever is greater. When assignments are made to work out-of-classification for more than ten (10) consecutive calendar days (or the equivalent thereof for alternate or flexible schedules), the employee shall be compensated for all hours worked beginning from the first day of the assignment for the full period of the assignment. When an employee is assigned to work out-of- classification pending approval of a reclassification upward, the employee will be paid at the next higher rate of pay or first step of the higher salary range, whichever is greater. Agencies may provide an additional five percent (5%) differential if the work out-of-class would not result in additional compensation for the employee. Agencies must document the reasons for the exception. (b) An employee performing duties out-of-classification for training or developmental purposes shall be informed in writing of the purpose and length of the assignment during which there shall be no extra pay for the work. A copy of the notice shall be placed in the employee’s file. (c) An employee who is underfilling a position shall be informed in writing that they are an underfill, the reasons for the underfill, and the requirements necessary for the employee to qualify for reclassification to the allocated level. Upon gaining regular status and meeting the requirements for the allocated level of the position, the employee shall be reclassified. (d) Assignments of work out-of-classification shall not be made in a manner which will subvert or circumvent the administration of this Article.

  • Working Out of Classification Whenever an employee is assigned the principal duties and responsibilities of an employee in a higher classification for a single shift or greater period of time, that employee shall be paid a minimum of three (3) steps above their present salary, or shall receive the salary at the bottom of the range for the classification which they are working in, whichever is greater, for all such time worked.

  • Temporary Upgrade An employee in a temporary upgrade status shall have no right to grieve or arbitrate release from such temporary upgrade status.

  • Temporary Roads As necessary to attain stabilization of roadbed and fill slopes of Temporary Roads, Purchaser shall employ such measures as out- sloping, drainage dips, and water-spreading ditches.

  • Temporary Disconnection Temporary disconnection shall continue only for so long as reasonably necessary under Good Utility Practice.

  • Temporary Space Upon reasonable prior notice from Tenant to Landlord, Landlord agrees to provide Tenant with temporary space (the "Temporary Space") on either the second floor of Building A or the second floor of Building B of a size and in a location to be mutually agreed upon by Landlord and Tenant for a period of time commencing no earlier than sixty (60) days from the date of Tenant's notice requesting that the Temporary Space be made available and expiring on the Commencement Date of this Lease. Tenant's occupancy of the Temporary Space shall be subject to all of the terms and conditions of this Lease to the extent appropriate, except that (i) Annual Fixed Rent for the Temporary Space shall be payable at the annual rate equal to the product of (x) $4.00 and (y) the rentable floor area of the Temporary Space, (ii) for the purposes of determining Tenant's payments on account of Landlord's Operating Expenses under Section 2.6 above and Landlord's Tax Expenses under Section 2.7 with respect to the Temporary Space, the "Rentable Floor Area of the Premises" shall be deemed to be the rentable floor area of the Temporary Space and (iii) the Temporary Space shall be delivered to Tenant in its "as is" condition and no improvement allowance or brokerage commission shall be payable with respect thereto. In addition, it is acknowledged and agreed that if Tenant shall elect to lease any Temporary Space hereunder, Tenant shall be occupying such Temporary Space while Landlord is proceeding with components of the Base Building Work in Buildings A and B and accordingly that Tenant shall use and occupy the Temporary Space in such as manner as to minimize any unreasonable interference with Landlord's performance of the Base Building Work.   • Temporary Positions A) The Employer may create regular temporary positions for vacation relief for more than one (1) incumbent for up to six (6) months duration. B) The Employer may create regular temporary project positions (i.e. grant funded, capital projects, pilot projects, or term specific assignments) for up to twelve (12) months’ duration. These positions are not renewable after the end date of the project, unless the Union and Employer agree to renew/extend the time limits. C) These positions will be posted and filled in accordance with Article 17.01-

  • Temporary Layoff The Employer may temporarily layoff an employee for up to ninety (90) days due to an unanticipated loss of funding, revenue shortfall, lack of work, shortage of material or equipment, or other unexpected or unusual reasons. An employee will normally receive seven (7) days notice of a temporary layoff.

  • Temporary Employee Employees may be hired for a specific term not to exceed six (6) months, to replace an employee who will be on approved leave of absence, absence due to WSIB disability, sick leave, long term disability or to perform a special non-recurring task. This term may be extended a further six (6) months on mutual agreement of the Union, employee and Hospital or by the Hospital on its own up to twelve (12) months where the leave of the person being replaced extends that far. The period of employment of such persons will not exceed the absentee's leave. The release or discharge of such persons shall not be the subject of a grievance or arbitration. This clause would not preclude such employees from using the job posting provision under the collective agreement and any successful applicant who has completed his probation period will be credited with the appropriate seniority. The Hospital will outline to employees selected to fill such temporary vacancies and the Union, the circumstances giving rise to the vacancy, and the special conditions relating to such employment.
