Common use of Trade Days Off Clause in Contracts

Trade Days Off. With the approval of the Chief or his designee, an employee may trade days off with other employees or themselves who are able to do the work provided it does not create overtime at the time of the request or upon the subsequent approval of future leaves, pursuant to Department policy. All such trades shall be limited to one (1) per quarter of the calendar year and apply to only those employees on a 4 and 2 schedule. A written request for a trade shall be submitted to the immediate supervisor at least five (5) days prior to the requested trade, and a response to the written request shall be given no later than the next tour of duty.
