Transaction of Union Business. The AFSCME President or authorized representative shall be permitted by VTA to transact any AFSCME business on the premises of VTA, but the transaction of AFSCME business shall not delay the scheduled work assignments of any employee.

Transaction of Union Business. The Union President or authorized representative shall be permitted by VTA to transact any Union business on the premises of VTA, but the transaction of Union business shall not delay the scheduled work assignments of any employee. The Union and VTA agree to abide by Federal and State laws with regard to the payment of union dues.
Transaction of Union Business. Duly authorized representatives of the Union and its affiliates may transact Union business on district property at any time before, after or during the regular work day, provided, however, that no such business shall be transacted on district time, nor shall such Union business in any way interfere with the administration of the district or other school functions or activities. All visitors, including Union representatives, must report to the building office during work hours before transacting such business and sign in. Release time with pay shall be granted to bargaining unit members and the local president, when required by the Board, to attend negotiation sessions, insurance committee meetings or any other meeting which is conducted during the employee's regularly scheduled hours of employment. Release time shall also be granted to the grievant(s) and local president to attend grievance hearings including arbitration. Nothing herein shall require said meetings to be scheduled during the employee’s scheduled work hours.
Transaction of Union Business. Authorized representatives of the Union may, upon checking in with the building principal, enter the school building for the purpose of transacting official Union business during the work day while this contract is in full force and effect. It is expressly understood that any Union representative shall not, during the course of a visit, interrupt normal school operations, nor shall the Union representative have the right to visit an employee at, or take an employee from a duty station. Any Union representative not so checking into the school building or any representative taking an employee away from a duty station may be barred from further access to the building during the school year and any employee conversing with a representative knowing that the representative has not complied with the provisions of this paragraph shall be subject to disciplinary action.
Transaction of Union Business. DURING WORKING HOURS Employees shall be permitted leave of absence when required attend conventions, committee meetings, negotiations, or any other pertinent business of their labour organization provided that three calendar days’ notice is given the Department stating the expected period of absence and the expected date of return to duty. It is agreed that no Union activities except those to which both parties to this Agreement may mutually consent shall take place in the mill properties during working hours.

  • Union Business (a) The Hospital shall grant leave of absence without pay to employees to attend Union conventions, seminars, education classes and other Union business in connection with the administration of the collective agreement provided that such leave will not interfere with the efficient operation of the Hospital. Such leave will not be unreasonably denied. In requesting such leave of absence for an employee or employees, the Union must give at least fourteen (14) days clear notice in writing to the Hospital, unless not reasonably possible to give such notice. The cumulative total leave of absence, the number of employees that may be absent at any one time from any one area, and the number of days of absence shall be negotiated locally and are set out in the Local Provisions Appendix. During such leave of absence, the employee's salary and applicable benefits shall be maintained by the Hospital on the basis of what his normal regular hours of work would have been, provided that the Union reimburses the Hospital in the amount of such salary and applicable benefits within thirty (30) days of billing. Notwithstanding the above, time spent by the eight (8) Executive Board members and seven (7) Alternate Executive Board members of the Ontario Council of Hospital Unions to fulfill the duties of the position shall be in addition to leave for Union Business under this clause. Part-time and casual employees will be given full credit for seniority purposes for regularly scheduled hours missed in accordance with this provision.

  • Leave for Union Business The Hospital agrees to grant leaves of absence, without pay, to nurses selected by the Union to attend Union business including conferences, conventions and Provincial Committee meetings and to any nurse elected to the position of Local Co-ordinator. The cumulative total leave of absence, the amount of notice, the number of nurses that may be absent at any time from one area and the number of days (including those of the Local Co-ordinator) is set out in the Appendix of Local Provisions. During such leave of absence, a nurse's salary and applicable benefits or percentage in lieu of fringe benefits shall be maintained by the Hospital and the local Union agrees to reimburse the Hospital in the amount of the daily rate of the full-time nurse or in the amount of the full cost of such salary and percentage in lieu of fringe benefits of a part-time nurse except for Provincial Committee meetings which will be reimbursed by the Union. The Hospital will xxxx the local Union within a reasonable period of time. Part-time nurses will receive service and seniority credit for all leaves granted under this Article.

  • Unpaid Leave - Union Business (a) Short-term leave of absence without pay to a maximum of fourteen (14) days at one time shall be granted to employees designated by the Union to transact Union business including conventions and conferences unless this would unduly interrupt the operation of the department provided, however, that these designated employees shall be paid by the Employer for time lost in attending meetings during working hours whenever their attendance is requested by the Employer. The Union shall give reasonable notice to minimize disruption of the department and the Union shall make every effort to give a minimum of seven (7) days' notice.

  • Local Union Business Leave The Hospital agrees to grant leaves of absence without pay to local bargaining unit members for the purpose of attending Union seminars and/or attending to Union business. The cumulative total leave of absence will be determined locally, but shall not exceed sixty (60) days per year per hospital. The amount of notice required and the number of employees who may be absent at any one time and from any one area shall be determined locally and will be set out in the Local Provisions Appendix.

  • Union Business Leave 1. The five members of the Union Negotiating Committee shall be granted leave from duty with full pay for all meetings between the Board, or its representatives, and the Union for the purpose of negotiating the terms of a contract, when such meetings take place at a time when such members are scheduled to be at work.

  • Leave of Absence for Union Business (a) The Employer shall grant leaves of absence to employees to attend Union Conventions, negotiations of the Collective Agreement with the Employer and other Union business. The Union agrees that such leave will not unduly affect the proper operations or be detrimental to the proficient operations of the Employer.
