UNION AND TEACHER RIGHTS. 4.1 The Union may use school rooms or multipurpose rooms without charge after school hours from Monday through Friday during the period that school is in session and when custodians are normally in the building. If it is necessary to open a building especially for the Union, the fee charged will cover only the cost of the custodial services, plus a charge of $15.00 for each use of a gym or auditorium unless such charge is waived by the Superintendent. The Union shall be liable for damages to school property in the area being used by the Union, if caused by the Union's use. All applications for the use of school buildings will be made in writing to the Superintendent at least two weeks prior to the date of intended use whenever possible.

UNION AND TEACHER RIGHTS. Section 1. The responsibility and prerogative for assigning grades to students rests with the classroom teacher. The Administration shall not change any grade recorded by a teacher unless there is evidence that an error has been made. The principal must notify the teacher and initial the change. The change may be appealed to a committee appointed by GUFT, not to exceed three. The committee shall reach consensus decision on the final grade.

  • ASSOCIATION AND TEACHER RIGHTS A. Pursuant to Act 379 of the Public Acts of 1965, the parties hereby agree that teachers shall have the right freely to organize, join, and support the Association for the purpose of engaging in collective bargaining or negotiation and other concerted activities for mutual aid and protection. As a duly-elected body exercising governmental power under cover of law of the State of Michigan, the Board undertakes and agrees that it will not directly or indirectly discourage or deprive or coerce any teacher in the enjoyment of any rights conferred by Act 379 or other laws of Michigan or the Constitutions of Michigan and the United States; that it will not discriminate against any teacher with respect to hours, wages, or any terms or conditions of employment by reason of his/her membership in the Association, his/her participation in any activities of the Association or collective professional negotiations with the Board, or his/her institution of any grievance, complaint, or proceeding under this Agreement or otherwise with respect to any terms or conditions of employment. The Association likewise agrees that it shall not intimidate or coerce any teacher in the exercise of his/her rights set forth herein or under law.

  • Rights of Stewards When it is necessary for a xxxxxxx to leave his/her work area to investigate and adjust grievances or to investigate a specific problem to determine whether to file a grievance, the xxxxxxx shall request permission from the immediate supervisor and such request shall not be unreasonably denied.
