Common use of Union Business Leave Clause in Contracts

Union Business Leave. The Employer may grant a leave of absence for Union business where it receives a written request from the employee or the Union at least fourteen (14) calendar days in advance of the date of the requested leave. Any such request shall not be unreasonably denied. The Employer will pay the employees on such leave for the hours they would normally have been at work on such days had they not been on union business leave. The Employer will then bill the Union for all lost wages and the Union will remit payment within thirty (30) calendar days of receipt of the invoice.
