Union Leave A leave of absence without pay to attend to Union business shall be granted to an employee. Two (2) weeks' advance notice shall be given to the Employer indicating that such leave is required and unless otherwise agreed to by the Employer no more than one (1) bargaining unit employee per department shall be entitled to such leave at any one (1) time. This type of leave shall not exceed one (1) calendar year unless otherwise mutually agreed to between the Employer and the Union.
Union Leaves Employees on Union Leaves will be treated as provided in Article 18 (Q) while working on Union leave.
Transition Leave At the Appointing Authority’s discretion an employee under notice of permanent layoff may be granted up to one hundred and sixty (160) hours of paid leave, ending at the date of layoff. Hours of leave may be granted at any time throughout the layoff notice period and shall not be subject to the Application and Reinstatement provision of this Article.
Union Leave of Absence An employee on an unpaid Union leave of absence shall have her wages, benefits and seniority continued by the Employer, and the Union agrees to reimburse the Employer for the costs of such wages and benefits. Employees requesting leave under this article will provide the Employer with as much advance notice as possible of the dates of the leave. Where there are less than fifteen (15) regular employees at a workstation at the time the leave request is submitted, and subject to operational requirements, unpaid Union leave of absence will be granted to one employee for the purpose of conducting Union business. This would be an additional person on Union leave at worksites where the position of the Union President or Council member has been backfilled for the duration of their term of office. A leave of absence without pay shall be granted to an employee who is a member of the Union and who is:
Union Business Leave 1. The five members of the Union Negotiating Committee shall be granted leave from duty with full pay for all meetings between the Board, or its representatives, and the Union for the purpose of negotiating the terms of a contract, when such meetings take place at a time when such members are scheduled to be at work.
Vacation Leave A part-time employee shall earn vacation leave credits for each month in which the employee receives pay for at least twice the number of hours in the employee’s normal workweek, at the rate for years of service established in clause 34.02 of this Agreement, prorated and calculated as follows:
Union Leaves of Absence In support of the Partnership relationship, upon request, the Employer will grant time off to employees for official union business as long as the number of employees absent for union business does not impose an unreasonable burden on the Employer and the Employer receives reasonable notice. Union leaves will be defined according to the following: Short-Term Leaves are defined as leaves up to 30 days. Employees will continue to accrue seniority, service credit and benefits during the time of the absence, at the expense of the Employer. The impact of multiple short-term leaves on the operations must be considered. Long-Term Leaves are defined as leaves of absence for more than 30 days and up to a maximum of one year. Such leaves will be granted by the Employer in increments of three months and shall be jointly reviewed, on a periodic basis, at the regional level. Seniority, service credit, credited service and health, dental and life insurance benefits will continue during the leave as long as the union reimburses Xxxxxx Permanente for the associated costs.
Vacation Leave Accrual After a full-time employee has been in pay status for eighty (80) non-overtime hours in a calendar month, the employee will accrue vacation leave according to the rate schedule below. Vacation leave accrual for part-time employees will be proportionate to the number of hours the part-time employee is in pay status during the month to that required for full-time employment.
Local Union Business Leave The Hospital agrees to grant leaves of absence without pay to local bargaining unit members for the purpose of attending Union seminars and/or attending to Union business. The cumulative total leave of absence will be determined locally, but shall not exceed sixty (60) days per year per hospital. The amount of notice required and the number of employees who may be absent at any one time and from any one area shall be determined locally and will be set out in the Local Provisions Appendix.
Recall from Vacation Leave Where, during any period of vacation leave, an employee is recalled to duty, such employee shall be reimbursed for reasonable expenses, as normally defined by the Employer, that such employee incurs:
