UNION OFFICER'S SENIORITY. A Company employee elected to the Union office of President, Vice President or Shop Stewxxx xxxll head the seniority list for the purpose of layoff or recall only, while holding these positions provided their duties in these capacities require them to process grievances and administer the labor contract on a day-to-day basis. When such employees are replaced or removed from office, they shall be returned to their proper place on the seniority list.

UNION OFFICER'S SENIORITY. The President of the Local Union and the members of the Bargaining Committee shall have top seniority. Upon the expiration of their term of office, they shall be returned to their original standing on the seniority roster. Shop Stewards, likewise, shall have top seniority in their respective departments or units but shall be returned to their original standing on the seniority list upon termination of their service as Stewards. Top seniority shall be used for purpose of layoffs, and recall from layoffs only, and not to secure advancement over employees with greater length of service. In the event a Committeeman or Xxxxxxx is in a job classification which has more than one employee in the same classification and it becomes necessary to eliminate one of such jobs, the Committeeman or Xxxxxxx shall have top seniority for the purpose of such job elimination. The Committeeman and Xxxxxxx shall also have top seniority in the event another employee seeks to displace the Committeeman or Xxxxxxx from his job. The above provision does not apply to any appointed Committeeman or Xxxxxxx. For the purpose of determining who has top seniority among officers of the Local Union, Committeemen, and Stewards, the following order is set forth: President, or in his absence his designated representative, or Vice President; Chairman of the Bargaining Committee; Recording Secretary; Committeemen and; Stewards in their respective areas.

  • Union Officers Employees hereafter elected or appointed to full­ time Union office shall be granted a leave of absence without loss of sen­ iority but without accumulating seniority during the period of the leave of absence.

  • Union Officials 1. The Union will notify the Company in writing of the election, appointment, or removal of Union shop xxxxxxx(s). The District Lodge will notify the Company in writing of the Committee members at that location. 2. Effective upon the Date of Signing of this Agreement, the Company will assume the cost of a total of 150,000 hours of straight-time pay per year, to be used by shop stewards and other employees authorized by the Union for the purpose of administration of this Agreement and all other collective bargaining agreements between the Union and the Company. a. Shop stewards and other employees authorized by District Lodge 141 must give prior notice and report all time spent on Union business to the designated management representative. b. The Union will apportion the total annual allotment of 150,000 hours among the Company collective bargaining agreements it administers. In the event of an increase or reduction in the number of such agreements, the parties will meet to discuss and agree upon a proportionate adjustment in the hours allotment. 3. The parties will work with each other in good faith to ensure both that: (1) employees are reasonably represented in grievances and (2) the Company’s operation continues without undue delay. 4. The Union will provide the Company with the names, addresses, and phone numbers of its official Union Representatives. 5. The Company will provide the Union a reasonable amount of time as needed (not to exceed 2 hours) to participate in new-hire orientation for employees covered under this Agreement. 6. If requested by the Union and agreed to by the Company, Local Committeemen may be assigned to the Day Shift and to Saturday and Sunday as regular days off. In the event a significant dispute arises and remains unresolved it may be escalated to the level of AGC and HR at that station and, if not resolved, to the VP of Labor Relations and the President and Directing General Chairman.

  • Responsibility of Dual Directors, Officers and/or Employees If any person who is a director, officer or employee of the Adviser is or becomes a Trustee, officer and/or employee of the Fund and acts as such in any business of the Fund pursuant to this Agreement, then such director, officer and/or employee of the Adviser shall be deemed to be acting in such capacity solely for the Fund, and not as a director, officer or employee of the Adviser or under the control or direction of the Adviser, although paid by the Adviser.

  • Super Seniority For purposes of layoff and recall only, the President shall head the seniority list, provided however, that such officer must have the necessary skill and experience to perform the required work. The Sheriff agrees that this section shall not be applied in an arbitrary manner.

  • Additional Officers The Trustees from time to time may appoint such other officers or agents as they may deem advisable, each of whom shall have such title, hold office for such period, have such authority and perform such duties as the Trustees may determine.

  • Union Office Upon application by the Union, in writing, the Hospital will give reasonable consideration to a request for leave of absence, without pay, to an employee elected or appointed to full-time Union office. It is understood that not more than one (1) employee in the bargaining unit may be on such leave at the same time. Such leave, if granted, shall be for a period of one (1) calendar year (in the case of the Union President, two (2) calendar years) from the date of appointment unless extended for a further specific period by agreement of the parties. Seniority and service shall accumulate during such leave to the maximum provided, if any, under the provisions of the Collective Agreement. It will become the responsibility of the employee for full payment of any applicable benefits in which the employee is participating during such leave of absence.

  • DIPLOMATIC AGENTS AND CONSULAR OFFICERS Nothing in this Agreement shall affect the fiscal privileges of diplomatic agents or consular officers under the general rules of international law or under the provisions of special agreements.

  • Trustees, Officers, etc The Trust shall indemnify each of its Trustees and officers (including persons who serve at the Trust's request as directors, officers or trustees of another organization in which the Trust has any interest as a shareholder, creditor or otherwise) (hereinafter referred to as a "Covered Person") against all liabilities and expenses, including but not limited to amounts paid in satisfaction of judgments, in compromise or as fines and penalties, and counsel fees reasonably incurred by any Covered Person in connection with the defense or disposition of any action, suit or other proceeding, whether civil or criminal, before any court or administrative or legislative body, in which such Covered Person may be or may have been involved as a party or otherwise or with which such person may be or may have been threatened, while in office or thereafter, by reason of being or having been such a Trustee or officer, except with respect to any matter as to which such Covered Person shall have been finally adjudicated in a decision on the merits in any such action, suit or other proceeding not to have acted in good faith in the reasonable belief that such Covered Person's action was in the best interests of the Trust and except that no Covered Person shall be indemnified against any liability to the Trust or its Shareholders to which such Covered Person would otherwise be subject by reason of willful misfeasance, bad faith, gross negligence or reckless disregard of the duties involved in the conduct of such Covered Person's office. Expenses, including counsel fees so incurred by any such Covered Person (but excluding amounts paid in satisfaction of judgments, in compromise or as fines or penalties), may be paid from time to time by the Trust in advance of the final disposition or any such action, suit or proceeding upon receipt of an undertaking by or on behalf of such Covered Person to repay amounts so paid to the Trust if it is ultimately determined that indemnification of such expenses is not authorized under this Article, provided that (a) such Covered Person shall provide security for his or her undertaking, (b) the Trust shall be insured against losses arising by reason of such Covered Person's failure to fulfill his or her undertaking, or (c) a majority of the Trustees who are disinterested persons and who are not "interested persons" (as that term is defined in the Investment Company Act of 1940, as amended) (provided that a majority of such Trustees then in office act on the matter), or independent legal counsel in a written opinion, shall determine, based on a review of readily available facts (but not a full trial-type inquiry), that there is reason to believe such Covered Person ultimately will be entitled to indemnification.

  • Department Seniority Department seniority is defined as continuous length of service in calendar days within the employee’s department and where applicable, shall be used for internal department processes, such as vacation and schedule bids.
