Unused Sick Leave - Retirement. Subject to the provision of N.J.S.A. 11A:6-17 and rules and regulations promulgated thereunder, a full-time Sergeant who enters retirement, pursuant to the provisions of a State administered or approved retirement system, and has to his/her credit any earned and unused accumulated sick leave shall be entitled to receive supplemental compensation for such earned and unused accumulated sick leave only to the extent such is funded by the State. The supplemental compensation to be paid shall be computed at the rate of one-half (½) of the eligible Sergeant’s daily rate of pay for each day of earned and unused accumulated sick leave based upon the average annual compensation received during the last year of his/her employment prior to the effective date of his/her retirement, provided, however, that no such supplemental compensation payment shall exceed the statutory limit. This supplemental compensation shall be paid in a lump sum after the effective date of retirement. It may be deferred by the Sergeant for payment within one (1) year of the effective date of retirement.

b. This supplemental compensation shall be paid in a lump sum after the effective date of retirement or as may be elected by the employee deferred for one (1) year.

Subject to the provision of N.J.S.A. 11A:6-17 and rules and regulations promulgated thereunder, a full time member of the professional staff or faculty member for the period of time in which they officially served in an administrative capacity pursuant to the provisions of a State administered or approved retirement system, and has to his/her credit any earned and unused accumulated sick leave accrued during service in an administrative capacity shall be entitled to receive supplemental compensation for such earned and unused accumulated sick leave only to the extent such is funded by the State. The supplemental compensation to be paid shall be computed at the rate of one-half (1/2) of the eligible employee's daily rate of pay for each day of earned and unused accumulated sick leave based upon the average annual compensation received during the last year of his employment prior to the effective date of his/her retirement, provided, however, that no such supplemental compensation payment shall exceed the statutory limit. This supplemental compensation shall be paid in a lump sum after the effective date of retirement. It may be deferred by the employee for payment within one (1) year of the effective date of retirement.
Unused Sick Leave - Retirement. Upon retirement, unused sick leave is transferred to the Missouri State Employees’ Retirement System (MOSERS) and converted to creditable retirement service for vested employees.
Unused Sick Leave - Retirement. For the school years 2016-17, 2017-18, 2018-19, and 2019-20, the Board shall pay $65.00 for each day of accumulated and unused sick leave which a teacher has in excess of the total number of such sick leave days that can be used for additional service credit under TRS. The maximum number of days which will be paid is limited to eighty (80). Said payment shall be made as a post-retirement severance benefit and is not intended to be added to compensation in the teacher’s final year of service. The payment shall be made after the retired teacher provides evidence from TRS of any accumulated and unused sick days that have not been used for service credit under the Teachers’ Retirement System.

A permanent employee who enters retirement (other than deferred retirement) from the Employer’s service and has to his credit any earned and unused accumulated sick leave shall be entitled to receive supplemental compensation for such earned and unused accumulated sick leave. The supplemental compensation to be paid shall be computed at the rate of one-half of the eligible employee’s daily rate of pay for each day of earned and unused accumulated sick leave based upon the average annual compensation received during the last year of his employment prior to the effective date of his retirement provided, however, that no such supplemental compensation shall exceed $15,000. This supplemental compensation shall be paid in a lump sum after the effective date of retirement or at the option of the employee on quarterly dates; January 1, April 1, July 1 and October 1 with payments beginning on the quarterly date next following the date of retirement. The foregoing reference to the option of the employee is predicated upon the employee notifying the County of his intention to retire by no later than October 1 of the calendar year prior to the calendar year in which retirement shall be effected. If such notification occurs after October 1 the aforesaid payment option shall be at the County’s discretion.

Unused Sick Leave - Retirement. An employee hired on or before June 30, 2014 shall receive on the basis of his/her current rates, the following percentage of compensation for years of service for any of his/her unused accumulated sick leave. If the employee has notified the Board of his/her intention to retire by March 1 of any year, the Board shall pay any benefit due during the first pay period of the next fiscal year. If the employee does not provide such advance notice, the Board in its sole discretion may elect to pay one-half (1/2) of the amount due during the first pay period of the next fiscal year and to delay payment of the other one-half (1/2) of the amount due until the first pay period of the fiscal year after the one in which the first payment is made. Unused Sick Leave - Retirement. An employee with at least one (1) full year of credited service who leaves the system through retirement or the estate of one who dies while employed by the District, shall receive a payment as set forth below for each accumulated, unused day of sick leave. To be eligible for this payment, the employee must give thirty (30) days written notice of the date of termination for retirement. This payment, if any, will be made following the termination of employment and will not be subject to calculations for pension purposes. This notice may be waived for good cause shown by the employee. Upon receipt of written request from the employee, the District may withhold this payment until the first January pay of the following year. Upon death, the payment shall be made to the beneficiary (ies) identified on the PSERS “Nomination of Beneficiary” form or if the beneficiary is not identified or available, to his/her estate.
