Use of Department Vehicle. Employees will be assigned a department vehicle to use for all police department business and to travel from their residence and the police department. However, for purposes of traveling between an employee’s residence and the police department, employees may not travel with their department vehicle further than a 45- minute drive time from the St. Cloud City Limits as calculated in Article XX. This 45- minute drive time limitation applies for the employee’s entire term of employment and shall not be removed after an employee has completed 20 years of service with the City of St. Cloud. Take home vehicles benefit the Employer by ensuring a quicker response time in the event of a call back to duty; however, take home vehicles also increase the Employer’s costs for fuel and maintenance. Therefore, the parties agree that the Lieutenants will be assigned a department vehicle for use for all police department business and to travel between their residence and the police department and in the event that the Employer needs to “call back” the vehicles, depending on the needs of the City or the Department from the command staff in the police department (i.e., Commanders, Assistant Chief of Police and the Chief of Police), the Employer also retains the right to “call back” the vehicles from the Lieutenants.

Use of Department Vehicle. Section 1: The Police Chief may use a village owned vehicle for official business and may use that vehicle to travel to and from village duties, training, and their Xxxx Xxxxxx residence. This vehicle would be considered a “take home” squad.
