Education Reimbursement. The County will provide education reimbursement for education costs incurred by regular employees who apply for such reimbursement in accordance with the policies and procedures governing the education reimbursement program. The maximum reimbursement shall be $1,500 per year.
Education Reimbursement. Effective date of ratification Employees shall on the prior approval of the Director of Nursing and after successful completion of the course be entitled to receive reimbursement for employment related textbooks and / or course costs annually on presentation of receipt(s) for payment by the Director of Nursing or designate as follows: Full-time employees Up to $100.00 Part-time employees Up to $50.00 Such payments shall be tax free if allowed by law.
Education Reimbursement. Upon verification of successful completion of at least three (3) hours of pre- approved college credit earned at an accredited college or university, an officer shall be entitled to reimbursement of education costs. If the reimbursement is for a course taken as part of an undergraduate degree program, the amount of reimbursement shall be limited to the actual cost of tuition of up to thirteen and one-half (13.5) quarter hours per fiscal year, and registration fees at Portland State University, subject to proration in the event the fund maximum is met. If the officer already has an undergraduate degree, or if the course is not taken as part of an undergraduate degree program, the officer shall be entitled to a lump sum reimbursement of $260.00 for education costs, subject to proration in the event the fund maximum is met. For purposes of this section, one semester hour shall be the equivalent of 1.5 quarter hours.
Education Reimbursement. When, in the opinion of the City Manager, a training course to be taken by an employee will be of benefit to the City, the City Manager may authorize payment by the City of one hundred percent (100%) of tuition charges, fees, the cost of textbooks and supplies or two thousand four hundred dollars ($2,400), whichever is lower, each calendar year the employee is enrolled in approved training. Additionally, the City will reimburse fifty percent (50%) of the direct cost of tuition, books, and supplies, or three hundred dollars ($300), whichever is lower, annually for approved direct costs between two thousand four hundred dollars ($2,400) and three thousand dollars ($3,000). Reimbursement of costs associated with training/education will only be made if the employee receives a letter grade of “C” or better or in cases of courses offered as pass/fail, a grade of pass. Costs for education reimbursement come from each individual department budget.
Education Reimbursement. Section 1 The City shall reimburse PBA Bargaining Unit members up to three thousand dollars $3,000 per fiscal year, including tuition and books, for approved technical/trade school or college courses in a community college, college or university accredited by an agency recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA). The following guidelines will govern tuition reimbursement.
Education Reimbursement. The City will reimburse Employee for the cost of all books and tuition incurred by Employee while attending an accredited educational institution for those courses directly related to the Employee's scope of employment or which are contained within an approved curriculum of study that is directly related to the Employee 's scope of employment. Tuition shall be reimbursed at rates up to the tuition rates of the California State University system. The City will reimburse the Employee for all classes the Employee completes with a grade of "C" or better provided Employee: i) provides a list of classes to the City Manager prior to each quarter or semester; ii) provides to the City Manager verification of the cost for tuition and books; and iii) provides to the City Manager certification of completion upon completion of the course(s).
Education Reimbursement. Each full-time employee who has completed a minimum of two (2) years of continuous service with the Employer shall be entitled to a maximum reimbursement per calendar year of Four Thousand Dollars ($4,000.00) per year towards the actual cost incurred by the employee for tuition and fees for attending graduate, college or university class work on the following conditions:
(a) all course work must be pre-approved by Chief of Police and must be in the fields of law enforcement or management; ·
(b) payment will be made based upon the number of approved hours to a maximum of sixteen (16) semester hours or twenty (20) quarter hours;
(c) an employee will be reimbursed for the hours taken and passed with at least a grade of “C” or receive a pass in a pass/fail course provided an official transcript and a paid fee slip are delivered to the finance director. The employee will be reimbursed within a reasonable time after providing the information. Failure to provide an official transcript and a paid fee slip will result in no reimbursement to the employee;
(d) the amount of reimbursement may not exceed the actual amount expended by the employee for said course work. Reimbursement shall be for tuition costs and a maximum of One Hundred ($100.00) Dollars per course per employee for fees and/or books. All other fees are the responsibility of the employee;
(e) the City shall not be required to pay a sum in excess of Twelve Thousand ($12,000.00) Dollars per any calendar year for reimbursement. Inthe event those funds are insufficient to provide full reimbursement to all employees, the monies shall be prorated among the qualifying employees;
(f) employees shall notify the Chief prior to January 1 and July 1 of classes which they expect to pursue in the subsequent six (6) month period;
(g) any balance in the college reimbursement fund shall be returned to the general fund at the end of the year.
(h) reimbursement shall be limited to reimbursement for course work leading to one undergraduate degree and to one graduate degree only per employee.
Education Reimbursement. Section 17.1. Subject to a maximum of five thousand dollars ($5,000) per employee, per fiscal year, and the availability of funds, the City will reimburse employees at the rate of one hundred percent (100%) for the cost of books and tuition for any successfully completed academic course which is directly related to their assigned department or a mutually agreed upon career development plan. The course must have prior approval by the respective department head and must be completed with a 2.0 or "C" or better grade. Once such career development plan has been agreed upon by the Department Director, the City will not withhold reimbursement for any course required by such plan. Any books purchased and reimbursed by the City are to be returned to the City and shall be considered City property upon completion of the course. The City will attempt to budget funds to allow employees to utilize the provisions of this Article. Reimbursement is not available through the City if other compensation is available from other sources, such as the G.I. Xxxx, LEEP, or other similar programs. A further stipulation for any tuition reimbursement is that the benefited employee is required to continue employment with the City for a period of one (1) year after completion of the course(s) provided. Voluntary separation from the City, prior to this time period, will require that the employee reimburse the City the prorated portion of the amount received. The employee will be credited one-twelfth (1/12th) of the amount received for each month of completed service after completion of the course for which reimbursement was made (For example, an employee who has received educational reimbursement for a course, but completes only six (6) months of service following completion of that course will be responsible for reimbursing the City for one half (1/2) of the reimbursement received.) The City may recover the reimbursement through deduction from the employee’s final paycheck to the extent permitted by law.
Education Reimbursement a. Employees shall be eligible for reimbursement of 75% of the expense of tuition, including books, for courses of study relevant to their Department that they successfully complete, provided: It is requested that the Employee provide by November 15th a plan for the upcoming fiscal year for budget planning purposes that includes the number of courses he/she expects to take and the estimated costs for tuition and fees. Each such course of study must be, in the judgment of the Town Administrator, relevant to the work done by the Employee in his current position or performed in Union positions to which such Employee might reasonably be promoted. No reimbursement shall be paid for any such course of study unless the course has been approved in advance by the Town Administrator, upon the recommendation of the Director. Only courses in pursuit of a Commercial Driver’s License, or an Associate’s degree, Bachelor’s degree, or Master’s degree shall be reimbursed and reimbursement is limited to one degree/license only. Any Employee pursuing a second degree/license on or before July 1, 2023 will be grand-fathered from this provision, but will not be reimbursed for any subsequent degrees/licenses. In courses that are graded, a grade of “C” or better must be obtained. The Town will reimburse for the cost of tuition and books for a course, up to the maximum allowable educational assistance exclusion under Section 127 ($5,250 for 2022) per fiscal year, per Employee.
b. If an Employee who has received a reimbursement voluntarily quits or retires or is discharged from the Town’s employ within two (2) years after having been reimbursed, the Town shall be entitled, without prior notice, to deduct from the Employee’s final pay and other monies due the Employee upon termination of employment an amount equal to the applicable reimbursement.
Education Reimbursement. 8.4.1 The Employer agrees to reimburse the actual costs of pre-approved training or education to a maximum of fifteen hundred dollars ($1,500) per fiscal year. This may include courses during or outside scheduled hours of work. Approval shall not be unreasonably withheld.
