Use of Sick Leave during Pregnancy. Disability relating to pregnancy while a unit member is rendering paid service to the District shall be treated as an illness when certified by the unit member and her doctor that she is physically disabled from performing her assigned duties. In case of absences of more than five (5) days and upon request by the District, a certificate of illness or injury must be presented to the Superintendent's Office, signed by a regularly licensed physician by whom the unit member has been treated for illness or injury. Medical verification for other absences may be requested in advance by the District under circumstances which reasonably justify such request.
